Hi Everyone,

I just joined the site after finding it through a google search. I am scheduled for surgery on the 23rd of April. I am on day 5 of the pre op diet and it has been a challenge but is getting easier. I am excited, nervous and scared all at the same time. I have a little anxiety about all of this but I know it is the best option for me at this time. I have struggled my entire life with weight issues and have never been successful at keeping the weight off. I have on a few occasions lost some and then found it again plus some!! I love reading all of the helpful advice on the site and look forward to this journey I have ahead.

Hi. I'm new also. I'm still trying to figure out how this works, lol. I have my first seminar tomorrow and my first Dr. appointment on May 9th. I'm excited and wish they could have given me an appointment sooner. Good luck with your surgery and I hope everything goes great for you.

I am not completely new here. I joined the first time about a year ago when I thought I was getting the lapband done. Things didn't work out that time. I am now scheduled for my lapband on April 16, 2012. I am so excited. I did manage to loose 40 lbs on my own after my first visit to the lapband surgeon and then started gaining it back slowly. So I would say I am down 20lbs on my own. I start the pre-op diet on April 19. I only have to do it for 1 week before my surgery. Its so funny to be scared and excited at the same time. Nice adrenalin rush I have been on since my lapband date has been set.

I wish everyone here the best of luck.

Hi,

I'm new, too. I've completed my psych eval, surgical consult and first nutrition evaluation. This has been a long time coming for me after yo-yo'ing my entire life. Thanks to everyone here that shares their journey's, good and bad, especially for those of us that are just getting started.

Hi Everyone! I am new too... I am scheduled for my band surgery on May 18, 2012. I am private pay and my BMI is 33 so I will only have to do the liquid diet for 10 days prior to surgery. I am trying to get active now and also trying to chew slow and more and not drink with my meals. That has been the toughest for me. I keep forgetting! So excited and a bit scared too. Looking forward to getting to know all of you on our shared journey!

www.tickerfactory.com

After you set you ticker up it will give you the scrip to copy and paste. Just below your ticker will be a box and inside there will be 2 versions of script to copy. Copy the first set of scrips and paste it to your signature on your profile settings and save.

That should put the tracker at your signature.

That has been the hardest obstacle for me is not drinking with meals. So are we to not drink at all not even small sips? I cant lie the lingering taste of food in my mouth occasionally makes me nauseous so having something to wash it down always helps.

I consider myself new here. I should be getting the band in June 2012. I have an education class on May 2, 2012. I've already had the six months of required doctor's visits. I have a psych eval on April 18, 2012. So I'm guessing as long as my insurance moves swiftly (which my case manager says they do). I'm looking at the first half of June 2012 to be banded.

Thankfully I have good insurance and I have a fsa to assist in paying for the rest of what the insurance won't pay.

Good luck to you and everyone else in their journey!

Hi Manda! I have been told by my Dr. NOT to drink with my food and to not drink 30 minutes before or after eating. This has been the hardest thing for me. I am trying to not have a glass anywhere near me but I feel like if I don't have Water close to me I might choke. I know so crazy but this is a habit I have had all my 40plus years of life! One day at a time I guess. Good Luck everyone!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
