I am NOT the Energizer Bunny!

I've been banded for almost 6 months. So far so good, my weight loss has been steady. I log my food daily, on Fitday.com, and that has been helpful in keeping my nutritional needs and calories in check (protein, fiber, etc).

However, my energy level isn't great at all. I feel the same, energy-wise, as I did 60 pounds ago. Yuk.

My surgeon said, if I like, he can be me B12 shots. He wasn't sure how well they work for his gastric bypass patients. He said "some can't notice the difference and others swear by them." I said I'd give it some thought. I am wondering if B12 vitamins give the same effect, after a month of use?

Anybody else like me? Losing weight and no energy.

Shawn

According to my nutritionist, if you don't want shots then B12 needs to be taken in lingual form in order to be effective. She said that pills don't give us what we need. I picked up a bottle of B Complex from GNC that doesn't taste bad at all. You take one dropper full each day.

I also highly recommend a liquid vitamin called Source of Life by Natures Plus. I heard about it here on the board. It really makes a difference in my energy level. In fact, my Mom who is 66 takes it as well and swears by it. You can get it at The Vitame Shoppe or online. Good luck and I'm glad to hear that your blood work came by normal.

Shawn, I'm really glad to hear everything looked good with the bloodwork but you're right. That's good and bad news because you're still left with the unanswered question, "Why am I tired?"

Have you tried taking a nap? :) (sorry, couldn't resist)

John had a good point about calories. Do you know how much you're eating per day? And how active are you? Did your doctor go over all those questions with you?
