I haven't taken any pain meds today (3 days post op) because I have to drive my son to 1/2 day Pre-K. I feel pretty good though, still sore but not so bad I can't do without the meds. I was also able to shower and pull bandages (not the white stitch things) off.

I'm on day 3 and had cream of wheat for Breakfast (my doc said I could) and it was good. However I feel no restriction whatsoever and feel like I could eat anything with no consequence. I don't get filled for another 4 weeks. Does anyone else feel this way? I'm sticking to the diet' date=' just scared because I don't feel much different than I did before my surgery.[/quote']

Today is day 5 for me and I feel like that. It started a little yesterday but I just drank more Protein. This morning I found that after my Protein shake I still felt empty so I had some cream of chicken Soup (strained). (1 1/2 oz) got back in the bed and less than a hr later I wanted something else so I am waiting for a return call from true results. I don't get my first fill until June 13th.

Well, tomorrow is my surgery day. A little nervous but also excited. Reading everyone's comments and such has helped me in asking the right questions to my doctor and feeling a little more comfortable as to what I'm going to be going through. I have been on the liquid diet for six days now and have already lost 8 pounds. Just hope all goes well.

Congrats to all that has been banded and hope things goes well for all of you.

Good luck to you! You will be surprised how well you do.

I started walking today 5 days post op. I have been active in the house but I just had to get out of the house. I walked for 40 min. @ about 2.5-3.0 mph. An app called NOOM measures your mph, steps, time. I feel good, the only problem I had was needing some better walking shoes.

Well I am still a little sore but tolerating it, had my surgery on Friday n I must say I'm pleased with how good I feel. No pain meds since Saturday. Got to visit my family yesterday. I'm still not driving tho these roads are very curvy n they r doing a lot of construction so I figured prob too rough to venture off too town. I'm walking a little outside, I walked to garden n watched my husband work some, can't wait tip I can dig in. Hope everyone is feeling well after their surgery.

Just had some soft noodles with butter, a very small portion. I'm waiting to see how my body reacts but I wanted some real food so bad.

Jackie what are you drinking? Also my Doctor said sometimes straws add to the gas pain so I have not used them. Hang in there you can do this!

I am drinking mostly Soup, tea, Water, protien shakes. I did cut out the broccoli soup, creamy Soups, and dairy be ause I'm sure they are adding to the gas.

For dinner I had 1/4 cup ground turkey in Tomato sauce, and 1/4 diced strawberries. I had no problems getting it down.

I will probably have 8 oz of milk in an hour, and another 8oz an hour or so after that. My doctor says I should be having 3 glasses a day. Lactaid free milk has been a lifesaver.

I know I need to work on upping my Protein intake but the Protein shakes literally make me sick. I am going to have to try deli meats, and more milk and yogurt. I normally don't eat cheese but may try that.

Measuring cups, a self timer, and actually eating at my dining table have helped me with the transition to soft foods so far. Anyone have good recipe suggestions?

Well, I officially over did it tonight. I walked with my (almost) two year old and 5 year old to the park and after being there for 30 minutes or so I started getting very light-headed. Fortunately one of my neighbors was at the park and helped me and the kids get home. No likey!!

Yes, finally feels like I'm getting into a bit of a groove. :) first fill is June 14. I'm nervous.

Oh no... Make sure to get plenty of rest and listen to your body. You don't want to push it too hard the first month.

I can not believe how soon every one is getting their first feels. I was banded on May 2 and I don't get my first fill until June 27. That is 8 weeks after my surgery. Do you think they made a mistake? do you think I should call my doctors office and double check.

I don't fill any restriction either but I have been sticking to my diet and I try not to eat but every 4-5 hours and I have been doing fine. Since surgey I have lost 14 lbs. remember that you don't want to put to much in your stomach now because the lab band is new to us and just recently was stitched to the wall of our stomachs and we sure don't want to do any thing to damage it. And I think eating to much would put to much strain on it.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
