Was banded on the 16th and these gas pains are awful! I can move around pretty good and is ready to start being active, however I am worried that my activity may out weigh my calorie consumption. I have no desire to eat and barely drink. If I am using myfitnesspal correctly it says I am consuming about 500-800 calories a day. (If that) I am on a liquid diet only. chicken broth, Protein Shakes and Water. Oh! My paperwork is confusing because one say fruit juice with no sugar and another says NO fruit juice. what do you think?

Good Morning All,

Congrats to all the newbies and soon to bees !

Day 6 for me. Feeling good, the achy legs and hips disappeared last night and I slept comfortably on my sides. Yay ! Only slightly bloated. I am having the opposite of constipation..thinking that has something to do with my gallbladder taken out with the banded plication.

For those of you that your doctor recommended low carb, high Protein, unrestricted fats like mine...I had the most delish coffee Breakfast this morning.

Added one scoop of chocolate Splendor Unjury to 8 oz of coffee and a teaspoon of coconut oil..tastes like a Mounds candy bar.

Happy Recovery and Best wishes !

Nita

Hello! I'm new here and my surgery is also may 24th. Good luck!

You are doing same as me. I ranted to get facts and support before I told everyone. My husband of course new he supported me 190% could not have done it without him. After I got information about the band I've told a few more people, they too were supportive. Good luck to ya. I had my surgery yesterday n I'm doing great so far really sore on right side n a little gas but doing well overall. The Lord really keeps me in his hands!

Getting frustrated! Started my pre op diet 2 weeks before surgery and was banded 5/9. I am only down 16lbs. I had a Protein Bar for breakfast/lunch because I am not getting enough Protein in. I know I am not suppose to be eatting yet! I hope I drop more weight soon!

Try leaning over a toilet or position your body as you would a baby and try to burp... It should allow some air into the space that is stuck and allow you to move things through. Continue to burp... Arms above your head or sway side to side. One way or another its going to move. Up and out or down and in... Good luck!

THANK YOU! I was burping a lot, putting my arms up and beating my chest. The pressure is a waaay better this a.m.... Almost all, though not totally gone. How long does this feeling usually last?

I thought I was being careful when eating, but I guess not.

Is anyone else having really thick saliva? I've been having this issue since the day of surgery 11 days ago. I am drinking lots of Water and brushing my teeth 3x a day and it doesn't help. My tongue remains yellow (that's the color my Vitamin dissolves into). Please someone say this isn't just me??

I can totally relate!! I was banded on May 11th and still don't know either. I have to pay attention to the time to make sure I get my shake in. I've haven't yet felt hunger. Now that you said that about hot flashes.....yes I've been having them. I'm feeling good except for some burning in the area of the port but other than that no complaints. I do feel at times some gas yet but its just annoying. One more week of liquids and then I can start mushies. Take care and I look forward to more reports. Tammy

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
