Tommorrow Is "b" Day Excited Nervous Scared !! :-/

Recommended Posts

I Get banded tomorrow 4/6/2012 I thought it will be all excitement (I am excited) but I am also really scared ! Not about the surgery itself but life afterwards. I'm 39 and have been overweight since age 12.I keep thinking that it wont work.or WORSE what if it DOES work.not sure how exactly to describe what I'm feeling just CONFUSED !!

Hey! Congrats! I think you should relax and enjoy the ride. You have came this far so the excitement is still there but the anxiety of surgery is setting in. You will do terrific pre, during and post op. You are ready for the change or you would have never taken the first step.;)

Good luck and keep us updated

Thank u !

Yes I've been thinking about this for a couple of years now.I hope it's just pre surgery jitters.but I really didn't expect to feel this way. Crazy it's like I'm even focusing in on the bad comments on here.when at first it seemed that everybody was encouraging.I'm taking deep breaths and praying.I'll keep u posted !:-)

I think it's pre surgery jitters. We are all in this together. Try to stay away from the negative on here. Remember there are more success stories than failures. Use the next 12 hrs before surgery to rest and stay positive. Try not to if, and, or but yourself. The more positive and relaxed you are the better the surgery will go.

I hope all goes well with the surgery for you.. Most of us were nervous before the operation about failing afterwards, its only natural to feel like that after struggling with a problem like weight for many many years. Just think to how life will be when the weight starts coming off and keep that in your mind not a 'what if i fail ' thought u need to think 'what if i dont fail' :)

I had it done this morning.I've been sipping liquids all day .my stomach is just achy no real pain but I am on top of the pain med and gas x.the worst part was coming out of anesthesia withexcrutiating shoulder pain.I thought they did the wrong operation.they said it was co2 gas from the e anesthesia they gave me meds hot pack and told me to do deep breathing to expel the gas.that lasted a couple if hours.so all in all pretty good so far :-)

So happy for you. I was on my way to bed, but came here first to check on you. I know you will do well. I read your posts about your fears. I have them too, and I don't have my date yet. Should know in a week or so.

You get rest and enjoy your new adventure.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
