Spinach Wraps...or Any Wrap For That Matter

Recommended Posts

is this considered a soft doughy bread? has anyone attempted any sort of sandwich wrap since being banded. i have wanted to make a Breakfast burrito or sandwich with a wrap for about a week but do not want to get stuck or have any issues...i am totally trying to avoid bread of any kind (my weakness)...any feedback would be helpful...

I used a flat out bread to make a "pizza" it went down ok and when I made it I put it on a cookie sheet so it didnt get as crispy as I would of liked. Next time Im putting it directly on the oven rack. But I didnt have any problems with the flat out bread.

I have no problem eating a wrap. I found some small ones that are low carb, high Protein. I have also bought thin pita bread or bagel thins and made pizza out of those too, yum!

I've had wraps with no issues at all. I normally buy the small, whole wheat variety. They don't gum up for me the way a soft bread would.

Cannot eat wraps for various reasons.

One of which is I have to take very small bites and swallows. VERY small.

How do you do that with a wrap?

I will buy a wrap and dismantle it, and eat it a little piece here and there with a fork.

I cannot eat tortilla's.

I take small bites and don't have any problems. I don't have them often, but have never gotten stuck on them.I buy the small size tortillas and eat only 1. I did just make a pizza on 2 bagel thins the other day and no problem at all finishing the 2 halves.

i'VE had wraps with no problem. tuna on a wrap is great and i actually eat the tuna with a fork and part of the wrap. i find crispy bread like, flats, toast , etc. are easier than the soft doughy breads.

It depends on the time of day (before noon, it's out), and the type of day I'M having, but I'd usually say no to wraps. At least, the large ones that have to be folded over several times. If the wrap gets too layered, it becomes thicker. I think you have to try (carefully) and see. I was not told NOT to eat wraps, this is just what I've experienced.

I make pizzas on small tortilla wraps. They get crispy like thin crust pizza :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
