How Quickly Can I Expect To Lose The Weight?

Hi,

I am finally figuring out the band --- finally in the 'green zone' and eating right and healthy and high Protein low carb. Just wondering, for those who have lost loads of weight, how long did it take you? I'm just trying to set realistic goals.

Thank you!

  • Most people will say they are pleased with their results after one year, 12 months, whether they are at their goal or not. Realistically, your Dr. will tell you 1-1/2 to 2-1/2 lbs per week is good,

  • I was 415 when I started my pre-op diet on May 9th, 2011 and I was 293 when I weighed in last week. So that is just over 120 pounds in 11 months. But I still have another 90+ to go. It really does

wow, im so glad to read that some of you who started at higher weights, have lost so much in one year. I know each of us are different, and if i dont lose at the same rate, not to be discouraged. I started at 356 the day i met the surgeon, 1/26/12 I have been dieting and working out ever since, but no budge on the scale..i have lost a few inches tho. I have set a goal of 75 lbs for my first year and a total of 156 over all. obviously at only 5'1, 200 lbs will still be heavy for me..but its a realistic goal for me to start with, and once i reach that, then ill set another one.

Hearing about the stories on here..makes me realize that my year goal is verrry doable.

Well I'll tell you..I started out at 303 lbs. but started working out and dieting 6 months before I had the surgery and lost 55 lb.s prior to my band...It's a bit discourging because now I am only losing 2 lbs a week..But it's because I lost the majority of my buldge early. Keep your head up and be positive and you will make your goal !! Play by the rules.....and don't get stuck !
