    Question About Getting Stuck

Everytime you eat....you have to use your mind and not just your fork !! It should take you 30 mintures to eat a meal and that's fast.......No washing it down either...that just makes you bring it all back up. It's all a mind game now.......but after you listen to your head........and get it,, then it will be easier........I am 10 months post and still have had a few episodes......Eat Smart ! Chew like you have never chewed before ! . just don't knock yourself out if that happens a few times.

    Rings And Underware !

OK so I was banded in Feb. of this year (2012) and so far I am doing great...I eat right and exercise on a regular basic...Drink only non carbonated/ no caffine drinks..My clothes inventory is getting thin......I will not be happy until my ring size and my underware are the same number ! The way I am going.....my undies may win the race ! HA !!! Who's with me??? Good bye granny panties ....

    Rings And Underware !

Yes...so many small things (Ha Ha) that make us happy now..I can cross my legs......I don't pee when I sneeze....I can see light between my thighs....I am now too small for my husbands pants !! My butt feels fine when I go to a movie. it fits ..my knees don't crack and hurt.

    Aaaargh!

Dear Aaaargh: I go to the gym at 5:00 am because it's hard for me to get disaplined to make myself workout after work and house chores...but i was feeling sluggish too....I realized that I was not taking in as many fluids as I was in the past..Don't know why...and I was having a hard time getting in my proteins...But I have nipped all that in the Butt...I am drinking enough and eating protein and doing better on my shakes now...I just had to step back and re-evaluate my problems and get back on track.....Sometimes I guess I try to overthink this new life style........I walk 1-2 miles in-between work and chores too.

    Things Are Changing

I have had two fills and it seems that the restriction for me is somewhat a few days or even a week later,,,so I guess it just depends on your body. I am going in tomorrow and I am asking for a slight fill....

Confused At How I Feel After My Fill

I do great until I sit down and eat with someone..I try to keep up with them and then I am sorry..I am also left sitting at the table alone, eating cold food...My son suggested that I put only half of what I plan on eating on my plate and heat up the rest when the other is gone. ( basically heat back up in the microwave) Then I will have warm food. When I am alone , I use my phone as a discraction or the TV ...everything against what we teach our kids..But in between bites it helps to surf or gaze at the tube, it slows me down. I think that now a days we are all in such a hurry and that leads to "situations" for Lapers ! No more eating on the run !
  7. So I was Banded on Feb. 13 ,2012... After reading and researching..I thought I knew it all....Well as a matter of fact, I really didn't. If I would have listened to what I read I would have never had a "stuck" episode or questioned my progress. It really is a new lifestyle..After eating like I did for years...It is a real eye opening experience to have to change somewhat like overnight. I found that I can't eat standing at the kitchen counter and just Pop food into my mouth......can't grab something and eat as I walk out the door, or while driving..in less its a Protein shake.... I have to cut everything into tiny piece's before entering my Piehole. I use a very small plate and fork so I don't over do. I have to think if I got enough Protein for the day... Basically..I am mad that I now have to think....and I thought I could sail thought the rest of my life without having too ! Darn. I Have to Think about everything I put in my mouth...If I would have learned this and was something that was taught to use at a early age..( I had great parents= meat and potato's ,bread) I don't think most of us would have to be were we are today. I now chew like a cow...chew chew chew...slow slow slow and the fact that I don't drink anything with my meals is also a real change.... I am happy I took the step to fix my problem, so if anyone reads this and is in question of having it done...Just remember to play by the rules and things will be just fine. PS..No spell check?

    2 More Weeks!!

Just be very patient and you are on the right path by getting all the info you can.... are you insured?? After I had mine I saw all these post about how much fills are.....Mine are covered by insurance but for those who's weren't..WOW some up to $1,200.00 that's outragoius ! Ddn't worry about being a bit sore in your shoulder after the surgery if you have it..It's common and go's away in 4-5 days. Also..the amount of food you get to eat will vary by everyone..so don't go by what someone else is eating. Start exercising NOW....The sooner you do, the better off you will be. Walk as much as you can. Start drinking water..as much as you can..but without a straw and no pop ! Cut out caffine and as much sugar as you can..it all helps before the fact. There..just my 2 cents !

Does 370 Per Fill Seem Expensive?

Holy Popeye !!.........I didn't even think about $$ for fills .My insurance company paid 100 % of my surgery and I had my first fill with no cost...I guess I also better check into this ! As for fills costing anymore then a office visit and the cost of saline. Thats just WRONG ! I am not for buying a Vacation Home for my Doctor inless I am on the guest list !

    Deductable Question

My Blue Care Network ( Mich) said it was 100 % covered..Later I found out that the $800.00 classes and the $150.00 liquid diet that was mandotory out of pocket was not a reimbursement qualified fee! I summited it but it got declined. I was hopeing to use that for some new clothes ! So far everything else has been covered.

    So Tight

Isn't it Crazy how much just a tiny fill can screw you up? I had my first fill last week and it's very restrictive 5 days later. (5cc) ...scrambled eggs today didn't make it down for very long....... Hokiemma..I am just like you..I don't want a un-fill because I think I am eating too fast and not chewing and I am stuborn, but I am not eating much..my EAS protein Shakes are yummy to me and I make sure I have atleast one a day to get the protein that I need, but I think I am going to have to just figure out what I can eat and get the most protein for my buck ! It's a lifestyle change..thats why most of us have it ! I have to change my way of past eating and get my head on straight everytime I eat. Old habits are hard to break....But I will continue to get through this..since I made the decision to get healthy...I joined a ladies Boot camp 5 months ago, knowing that I was having Surgery to get a head start..I do 2 days of cardio for one hour and 1 day of weighlifting for an hour and I am feeling great along with atleast a 2 mile walk everyday and ofcourse 64+ oz. water and Crystal Light. I am going to stick to a well chewed diet and take my time,( I just love cold food ) Everyones body is different so What works for my 10cc band might not work for others..... Hang in there ....Let's get healthy !

    So Unhappy :(

I just had my first fill at 5 weeks....I am at 5 cc but don't go by what everyone else has..It's your body !! it will adjust to you . Today I feel a bit restricted but it is just reminding me to chew and eat slower..That's what this is all about..It's no quick fix ! My Dr. does fills every 4 weeks if needed.....or un-fill the day after you get a fill if its too restricted. Hang in there !

Just Had My First "stuck" Experience....i Think

Just don't be so fast to eat something you shouldn't...I was making my own vegtable stock ( during my full liquid period) and thought a potatoe that was almost like mush wouldn't hurt..but I think I was so excited about it that I didn't mash it well enough..for me it felt like I swollowed a orange !

So Excited To Hit Week 2 Post-Op!

I am looking forward to mush next week...I am going to have to be trained again on how to use utensils ! A sweet potato is on my list ! Yum ! It's hard to believe that once you train your mind to adjust..it's been pretty easy for me !

Here I am on day 9 ...I am feeling great..I have'nt lost a thing in two days, and I am not worried one bit..I did my research and know that it will take some time for my body to adjust. I am walking as much as I can and drinking my protein and liquids. I have my first post-op appointmnet next week. It isn't that hard to do if you are fully aware of what this whole process is all about. Hang in there......time will show you the way !
