Please tell me what your drinking? I'm three weeks out and need a good Protein Shake to get this going. Also, I been reading about everyone getting stuck, etc.. I have no yet had a fill and only banded on the 6th and can eat soft foods now but I feel like I can eat anything. Everything I had so far seems to go down fine, is this because I don't' have a fill did I stretch my band out?? I'm so worried.. I wont' be getting a fill until April 9th :(

I go to the Vitamin Shoppe to buy Protein Powder. I joined their frequent buyer program (though I don't buy that much there) because they send coupons through the mail. My doctor wants patients to use whey isolate which is a higher quality Protein. Not all protein powder is created equal so look for Isolate in the ingredients.

I buy Optimum Nutrition -Gold Standard Double chocolate and Dymatize Nutrition- Elite Gourmet vanilla.

Post op during liquids phase most doctors say not to add fruit to your shakes.

I highly recommend the Hampton Beech individual Blender, the mixing container is a travel cup which is really convenient. It also cheap $15 at Walmart/Target. Works really well on ice cubes.

I would freeze fat free milk in "milk cubes" add a couple regular ice cubes which gives the shake a nice icy texture.

So about 2/3 cup fat free milk and 2 milk cubes equals 1 cup milk. I also bought sugar free coffee syrups, fat free/sugar free pudding powder

These are the BEST Protein Shakes I think on the market. This website you can get them cheap and depending on where you live can get them within 2 days via ups. My fav's are Peanut Butter, banana, strawberry & cappacino. So So GOOD....

Oh one more thing, You can mix with Water, skim or 1% milk. It isn't to good with water but with skim milk it adds more Protein to the drink.

go to AllStarHealth.com look up MUSCLE MILK LIGHT. 1 1/2 LB. CONTAINER. all you need is Water.< /p>

Flavors that I like are:

Cake Batter

Peanut Butter chocolate

Chocolate Milk

strawberry

Vanilla Creme

Some of these are also good for a base. Meaning put them in a blender, and add fresh fruit to chop up in them. Like the Vanilla.

No Matter what you order, as many as you want or only 1 item, your shipping is $5.95

Also check out Larry and Lennie's bars Triple chocolate Brownie is very good, and High in Protein

Don't worry, you didn't stretch your pouch. You have no fill, so it's almost like not having a band. I like the Premier Protein mixed shakes from costco, they have 30 g Protein, only 130 (or so) calories and one gram of sugar. Low fat too!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
