So what did everyone think? I wasn't terribly blown away with any of the performances. Maybe it's just the painkillers I'm on!

LOL - its not the pain pills.< /p>

I thought Taylor did great! He was my favorite, although Simon gave his performance a negative review (first song).

What a disappointment. No one really was great. I thought Elliott and Paris were pretty weak. I think one of them will be going home. My DH is convinced, as he has from the beginning, that Chris will win. I'm not into Rock, but he does have a voice. Too bad that he overused it this week and was not as good on his second song.

Okay, here's my take (remember, this is the opinion of a person who buys cds, not makes them!!!hehehe)...

Elliott - "On Broadway" was okay, not a memorable performance. "Home" was okay as well, but no one should take on Michael Buble - the man was given his voice by angels, I think!!! He did alright, probably sounded really good to someone who hadn't heard the song before!! Elliot, I LOVE YA, man, but you gotta step it up!!!

Paris - "Kiss" by Prince was great. I can't believe she'd take on an icon like Prince, but she made it anew and I loved it (and I am one of the biggest Prince Fans ever)!!!! "Be Without You" by Mary J. Blige, what was she thinking? I believe that taking on a current hit is difficult enough without picking a to-be classic("Home") or an amazing artist (Mary J. Blige)! Not so great.

Taylor - WOOT WOOT - what a funky white boy!! "Play That Funky Music" was a show-stopping performance! I love watching Taylor when he goes all spazzy and has fun! "Something" was a ruse to me. A Beatles tune doesn't belong in the "current hits" genre, even if it is still on the charts after 35 years or so. I was upset about it until I found out that his original choices (once again) were turned down. He picked up this one at the last minute according to the Idol Buzz, so I have to say, even though I'm not happy about it, I think he did an outstanding job!!

Chris - "Renegade" by Kiss was really good, but not as good as the original (and I didn't feel he was trying to change it up, so maybe not such a good thing)? "I Dare You" was an unknown song (to me, anyway) and probably the music Chris most associates with (hard, hard rock). I thought he sounded excellent singing it, but I couldn't get into it because I wasn't familiar with it, y'know? The judges thought his voice was cracky and ready to give out, I didn't hear it, but it really kinda turned me off when he complained about the long hours and singing the song over and over! I'm a little worried that this might have affected his votes.

Katherine - "Against All Odds" - she (to quote Kellie Pickler) "butchered it"! One of my all-time favorite songs (phil Collins is one of the most amazing writers/composers/performers around), shredded! Even you Katherine fans have to admit she was way-off with that one!?!?! That said, her next song "Black Horse and a Cherry Tree" was funky and very enjoyable! She was on her knees the whole time, which I found weird, but she did the song extremely well!!!

Here's my standings:

Taylor

Chris

Elliot/Katherine

Paris

OKay, was that long enough?!?!?!?!

see ya tonight

I only saw the last half of the show...and I am not sure that the acctual performance of any night from here on out is going to make a big difference in the outcome, except highlight little flaws in very talented individuals. I believe that the three guys will be the last 3 remaining, with Paris and Katharine leaving this week or next.

They are all very talented, but that's how the game is played. I personally pick Chris as #1, and Taylor as #2.

dialidol.com has been pretty much right each week, so we will see -- the week they put Chris in the bottom 3 I cringed!

after last night's votes this is what they say:

Elliott Yamin 27.643

Katharine McPhee 24.583

Paris Bennett 23.375

****disclaimer****

this is not an exact science and not meant to be taken as WHO is going to be going home,

just a fun thing to watch as someone else posted on how we voted for the worst in a previous post...:paranoid

I think Paris will go home tonight. I thought all the performances were weak...but I did like taylor and chris. I though it was weird that Katherine was on her knees at the end...maybe thats were she is use to being ...on her knees:nono:...sorry that was bad...shame on me!

Paris bores me, I think Elliot is too old for his age, Kathryn has what it takes but picks wrong songs way too often, the world loves Taylor, and Chris is my kinda rocker boy. Taylor's never been in the bottom 3, has he?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
