I am *sooo* excited I got word today after the last 6 months of desperately trying to land a good job that I was hired on as "Marketing Coordinator" at a local casino! I am sooo excited its not even funny!!!!

The interview was NOTHING like I had ever experienced.. I was relaxed and totally felt confident. Much different than I felt 100 lbs ago doing the same type of interviews.

Now the only scary part is that I had posted about clothes before for interviews I was size 30ish.. now I am down to size 22/24 and I have NOTHING that fits and still dont have any money to get clothes.

I am hoping my parents let us borrow at least a little bit of money to buy a weeks worth of clothes to get me by with. I've ended up passing along all the 28/30s that everyone sent me to other bandsters once they were to big but now I think I should have kept some just so i wouldve had at least a couple pairs of pants to big or not!

Does anyone have any size 22/24 dressy / professional attire they have outgrown? (or that have outgrown them i guess it should be!) Depending on shipping charges I could probably scrounge some money up on hubbys payday (maybe not till the 15th of next month since 1st is rent check) Email me at katie@griffonco.com if your have some to get rid of then I can stop stressing about clothes and get back to being excited about my new JOB!

Oh.. and for those who are in my shoes with tryin to find work.. have faith as the weight comes off my confidence grows and I really really think that made a huge difference.. well not to mention they dont tend to hire super overweight people for marketing positions.. gawd im so happy I had this surgery.

Congrats Kathy on your success. I am considering the lap band surgery, could you give me some advice? Also, what has been the secret to your success? Any pointers, and would you do it again?

Congratulations Katie! I would also suggest you looking into finding a good seamstress.. a lot of times its cheaper than buying new clothes and you cant even tell they were taken up!!

I agree with going to the tailor. I've done that through out my weight loss process.

If you have anything that is appropriate for work, but just too big, find a tailor. Then those clothes will fit like a glove.

Congratulations on the new job!!! (isn't it great?)

About the seamstress... I don't have any clothes that would look right if they were taken up... A 30 down to a 22/24??? I don't know about that??? Wal-Mart has a decent selection sometimes...

Katie... what you need to start out... is a nice pair of black pants... and then 5 or so shirts. That is what I where... You can dress up almost any shirt with black pants!!!

Seriously, I will be sending you some stuff as soon as you get me your address!!! Every girl with a new job need some nice threads!!!

Congratulations on both the new job and the weight loss! Hope you love the job! Sorry I don't have any outgrown clothes yet or I'd send you some, too! I'm hoping that I'll be needing new ones like you before too long!

I just want to thank everyone so much for everything. I have recieved so many emails and offers and I really appreciate all of you who are helping me out. And I just recieved a special email and I have no idea who its from it just says "LBT Friend" I really want to thank that friend I am so overwelmed right now.

You have all made me so happy and I have even cried because of it. I do not know how to thank you guys. I cannot believe that a year ago I was posting as a "pre bandster" and was so lucky to find this site. You guys have been with me through this amazing journey and I dont know if I couldve done it without you. (remember when I thought I was dying and you guys told me to have my gallbladder checked?! Thats just one example)

You all are so amazing. My husband thanks you all so very much he knows how stressed out I have been about needing clothes for work. I can now focus more on the fact that I FINALLY got a job.

Anyways.. thank you all so very much I am truely blessed to have such wonderful friends.

Congratulations and the best of everything to you. It is really wonderful to hear such a great success story. Both about the job and the weight. But knowing that your self image and self confidence have improved so much over your journey is good to hear for all of us.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
