Dehydrated????

Recommended Posts

Feeling really dehydrated! Got a fill on Monday! Barely been eating and of course I haven't been pushing fluids cu I feel no desire for it but waking up today I feel it and I'm pushing it! The restriction is good for me but I'm barely taking anything in!

Perhaps your latest fill was too much then? It's been almost a week & you still can't eat, sounds like you are too tight. And you need to drink! Too much restriction can be a bad thing.

I was thinking maybe it's too tight but maybe not. I can eat, just very very small amounts as it should be I suppose. For example yesterday I had about 5 almonds and a slice of cheese and I was done. My band told me. I have never felt this much restriction but I'm assuming this is how it should be. Any info would help.

Pop sickles they go down slower better than small sips. Eat lots. Dehydration just makes you tighter.

Yes, it does. Keep up with your fluids!

5 almonds and a slice of cheese? All day? That might constitute a meal, but not a daily ration. Hydration is very important. I got a bit dehydrated this weekend myself.

My band tightened up very tight. I've been slamming Water all day hoping to loosen things up.

No that wasn't the food I ate all day! That was breakfast! Much better but trying to drink tons of Water and can't seem to really tolerate solids! After a few bites I just can't take more in! I lost 3 lbs already so I'm sure this is what my surgeon wanted. For me to be on the tighter side!

If you cannot tolerate solids, I doubt that is what your surgeon wanted. Solids are what keep us satisfied. If you are too tight, you resort to sliders which will have you taking in more calories because you don't stay satisfied for long.

You should be able to eat 2-3 oz of solid Protein at a sitting. If eating solids is painful, you are definitely too tight. If you can eat 2-3 oz of solids and a small side, then you're doing ok. If you find yourself resorting to soft foods like yogurt or Soups because solids hurt, then consider and unfill. I was overfilled for a week at one point. When I got stuck on mashed potatoes, I knew it was too much. Sure I lost 7 lbs in a week, but I was in so much pain, it wasn't worth it.

Please clear something up for me. I hope I am right about this, 2 - 3 ozs of Protein that is cooked & weighed correct?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
