I am insurance, and I was only given opportunity to schedule after I received approval. I imagine you will meet with the surgeon prior to scheduling. The surgeon likes to talk to you about why you want the procedure and to see if you could be a better candidate for another type of WLS.

I was self pay and schedule first visit. If you are self pay and in good health except being overweight you could maybe go the same week. I went 1½ days later.
