I wish I could say the same. Today is day 1 for me and it has been ROUGH!! I am hoping after a couple days it will get easier, but I am in the pity party stage right now! I keep looking at the before pics my hubby took of me over the weekend. ICK!! That tends to slap me back to where I need to be :o Best of luck to you. We can do this!

My family had left over lasagna that I made over the weekend for my last splurge!! This is very difficult, but I will not cheat, I can't. I will only be cheating myself and my chance for a successful surgery. I am chewing the heck out of a piece of SF gum right now. I can have some sherbert in a bit. I never thought I would look so forward to that!!

The pre-op diet is the worst! You don't have a band to help you through it. Just keep focusing on why you are doing it. It will make the surgery safer for you. You CAN do it.

I made it through mine, and I can remember hearing my surgeon tell my DH that he knew I did not cheat because my liver was nice and small and very easy for him to move around during my surgery. THAT made it all worthwhile!

I read on a gastric bypass board of a lady whose liver split in two during her surgery! It was a fatty liver and was just too brittle to be moved about. Her medical condition was poor when she had her bypass, but that would be terrifying! She lost a lot of blood and ended up having an open procedure to fix things.

You CAN do it!!!!

No one enjoys the pre-op diet. Mine was two weeks of nothing but skim milk. Even now (surgery was 3 weeks ago tomorrow) I still can't even think about drinking the stuff :P

The first 3 days of the diet were the worst. Oddly enough, it does get easier. Not EASY, but easIER! You can do it!!! :)

Oh my! My surgery is March 6th and I start my 10 day pre-op liquid diet sunday! I have a feeling this will be the hardest part of the whiole experience! I have already started to stock up on all my supplies; yogurt, sugar free pudding and popsicles, and of course my chicken Soup flavored Unjury (which is actually really delicious!) Any tips for a newbie??

I'm on day 10, surgery is the 27th and this is the single hardest thing I've ever done... going to work helps by keeping my mind off it......sugar free ice pop is a big treat...but still, helping out with the kids involves making lunches, cooking..and its ridiculously hard....and this weekend I have an anniversary party that I cannot miss. But I just tell myself that I cannot cheat and ruin this - I would never forgive myself!

I'm on day 3 of my pre-op diet. It is definitely not easy to stick to but I've been good so far. My surgery date is March 1st and I'm going to stick to this diet. I've been fine on this diet during the day time, while I'm at work. When I get home it's a different story, then I have to prepare and smell food which makes it hard. We can do it though, we just have to be strong. Good luck

Fever should not be a part of it. That is generally a sign on infection. Weak and nausea, yes. Hope you feel better soon!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
