Those have alot of sugar!! I was told by the nutritionist to pour a soda over ice and leave it for a few minutes.

You can do it!!! I know it's hard, but pretty soon it will start to get easier. I started on Sunday 2/19 so I'm right with you! My band date is 3/8 at True Results in Richardson Tx

I am having my banding done on the 9th at True Results in Richardson.........are you using Dr. Fox?

No! :( I did request him in the beginning and thought it was taken care of but they never made the change and submitted Dr Benevides <--- not sure if I spelled that right! Lol. I really liked Dr Fox and his nurses are super! I'm a day before you! What kind of diet does Dr Fox have you on? I know he is very strict wen it comes to the type of food he wants you to it which would have been good for me!

I'm not a pop drinker but my doctor says no more carbination of any kind ever. So that's one that won't be hard for me to comply with! LOL

you are lucky then. i reckon thats one item that i will find hard to let go of. i guess it all depends on the dr.. and of course, how much we can handle ourselves.

For the pre-op he has you on the South Beach Diet Phase 1. Basically no carbs, no sugar, no starches. Protein and Veggies really. I have to travel to Austin Thurs night and be in meetings all day friday........not looking forward to the pressure of staying with my diet while away in a hotel. huh.png

This may seem dumb or maybe not but is their anyone out there that will be banded on March 8th? Looking for a band buddie I can talk to now and after the surgery? I'm thinking this will make it easier for each other!

I'm the 8th march!!!

Hi All,

I was to be banded on Feb. 28th but had to reschedule due to a bad case of bronchitis. My new date is March 12th in Denver with Dr. Synder. I live in the Denver area and my insurance is covering the surgery.

Dr. Synder is great and doesn't require a pre-op diet.

Anyone else with Dr. Synder in the Denver area?

Lori

i dont live near burger king or any other fast food outlets so i cant buy them... the soda poured over ice and leaving for a moment sounds really good to me.

Sodas of any kind (frozen or otherwise) have a ton of sugar. I'm not saying ANY of it is good. I'm just sayin if u MUST have a couple sips, I would stay away from carbonation at all costs. But that's just me.

You can do it!!! Be creative or stuck with protein shakes except for dinner maybe. I know you can do it. :)

I'm the 8th march!!!

Congrats! We can talk each other through it! I still don't know the time that I have to be in there but I guess I will find out at my pre op meeting the day before the BIG DAY!

My surgery is March 20th! I cannot wait, this has been a LONG year. I had to move the date from the 6th due to some work projects with deadlines, but I wanted to be sure my head was clear and I could focus on myself.

I have started the protein shakes, had 1 for breakfast then regular food for lunch and dinner for 2 weeks, and am not finishing 3 weeks of protein shakes for breakfast and lunch, with regular food for dinner. I see th surgeon next week (the 6th) asn suspect I will be on all liquids after that.

I ordered some cookbooks from Chef Dave Fouts, my brother recommended them. He (and my brother) were banded so the cook books have realistic and necessary recipes.

Also, reading Bandwagon.

It is about time I put as much energy into me as I do into my work and relationships!!

Good luck all, and this is a great place for support.

I just submitted my paper work today and hope to banded in march! I have bcbs of Alabama and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get a quick approval!!

I just got my date set for March 13th. I am very excited has been a long time coming. Starting my pre op diet tomorrow...What is everyone using for the protien shakes used in the pre op diet?

Sunflowerlover

My surgeon requires Phase one of the South Beach diet as pre-op. I start mine Wednesday. Protein and veggies really. He feels only liquids has a higher incidence of non compliance............ummmmmmmmmm YA...I need to chew something. wink.png
