MY SURGERY IS TOMORROW! IT'S FINALLY HERE! GOTTA BE THERE AT 5 AM!

STARTED MY CLEAR liquid diet SATURDAY THE 25TH AND IT HASNT BEEN THAT BAD PLUS WE ARE EVEN HELPING OUR SON AND HIS FAMILY MOVE. I JUST STOP ONCE IN A WHILE TO SIP SOME GATORADE OR EAT A CUP OF Jello. THE FIRST DAY WAS HARD. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING MY DOC HAS TOLD ME TO DO. A LITTLE NERVOUS AND HOPING FOR A QUICK RECOVERY. WISH ME LUCK GUYS!!!

Congrats mykids36~ will be praying all goes well! Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately I'm not a chocolate lover at all. For those looking for good Protein stuff, unjury mixes wonderfully!!! This evening I tried their chicken soup/broth, it's great!! The best I've tasted so far! Unjury.com if you need to order or try some.

Had a glitch today for approval. :( Wasn't told that I need a final weigh in doctor appt with the pcp....luckily I can get in Monday to do that....so held up for a few days. Hope and pray theres no more glitches!

Happy banding to all those coming up so soon!! :)

Surgery date is March 16. Starting to have second doubts whether I shoul go through with it. Currently lost 44 pounds on my own and feel that I can stay on that path yet...I always regain it all back plus an extra 30-40. It's been my pattern for 20 years. I really hope that the band will help me keep the weight off for good.

The best predictor of future behavors are your behavors of the past. Stay on course. No regrets!

Re-evaluate your past experience. For me I have no doubts I can lose the weight, it's keeping it off that is the real problem. Don't be like me, 60 and wishing I had done this years ago. Good luck on your journey!

Waitingpatiently: thanks for that Dr Phil quote. Needed to be reminded why I'm doing this....

I am very new at this but I to will be gettting banded march 21st!! So Excited but just as nervous at the same time. Two thumbs up to everyone!

To all March Bandsters: no more waiting. Your time has come. take a deep breath and know you are doing the right thing for your health. Please, please check in and let us know how you are doing. I would love to hear each of your banding stories! God luck! Everyone is cheering for you.

Patienceisthekey....I'm March 21 too! Still waiting for approval though. Good luck on your journey!

you will find that sharing on this site will help you no end... its the best way to learn all about the procedure and what to expect. im hoping to be done in march... will know next week. im in australia so im not sure of the protocol, how long i would have to wait, and how many appointments leading up to the op ive got ... will keep everyone posted on it all. it will be good to see the differences between the two countries with pre op diets etc. we will be able to compare.

Mine is at I think about 1pm in the afternoon. Well my surgeon told me two shakes and chicken and green veg for dinner no snacks. Until I contacted the dietician and he told me no meat some veges diet drinks and jellies and three shakes a day oh an some berries blah. Been interesting that's for sure. I was supposed to have surgery in feb but not approved through my superannuation. So i did the diet fir a week back then. I'm in Australia so I can access my superannuation early on compassionate grounds. So government dept of human resources has approved just waiting to hear from my super I'm sweating on it only next week now lol I'd hate to have to do this diet again arrgghh

hi... another Aussie here?? hey there... lol.. im in TAsmania... good to see another 'mate' here. im wondering if i will have to have a pre op diet . dont know until next week about that. ARe you where they are having all the floods now?

Hey Judy Kim here. I'm luckily not near the floods thank goodness I'm in sth east qld Brisbane way. Isn't this an awesome site. Do u know wen u have surgery as yet. Make sure u get on to the dietician so u get their version an not the docs version of the diet. I was drinking vegemite Water I was so hungry. Diet soft drinks and jelly have been my best friend It's hard at first but if u don't have sugar carbs u won't crave and ur appetite will die down u would hope!!

hello Kim , its just so good to see another aussie on here. although i must say its been a brilliant forum for me so far. i guess when it comes down to issues like we have, countries are all the same.... and so are the people. its good to meet you.

o.k..so you are near Brisbane?? i love that city. ive been through it a couple of times, we have a family member who lives in Eleanora which is near Coolangatta airport. Ray and i often go to Coolangatta for holidays.

So you are in hospital in the morning? is that right? im assuming that you are on computer now.. we are on practically the same time zone. we have an hour ahead of you though, but its not much.

Has it been hard for you leading up to your surgery then?? boy oh boy... some drs from what ive read here have put their patients on strict diets. i dont know how i would manage that without a band. who is your dr?? my dr will be Dr Wilkinson.

WAs it hard for you to get the referral?/ im about 4 stone overweight... my height is 5ft 5in. If it wasnt for my arthritis ,which is crippling me in my feet, hips and knees after many surgeries, i dont think the referring dr would have given me a referral, she didnt say anything but im thinking my BMI is only 30.... its the chronic condition of my joints that got me through. im hoping that it wont take all that long for me to lose the weight... but then i dont know really.

I see dr wilkinson next wed... the 7th. i held out with the appointment because we had a family visitor staying and it was too difficult for me to get to the dr. WE live right down south in TAsmania.

..nearly the furthest point you can find on the map. lol. its; a beautiful place, we live on the water, looking out to the sea towards the east. Its a small town with not many amenities and we have to travel on a not so good road to Hobart to see the specialist etc etc. so, its a biggie for us. we dont like being on the road much.

anyway, im so glad i found this forum. ive made so many notes... ive got plenty of questions for the dr when i see him next week. l i hate going and not being prepared., How long did you have to wait until they got you into surgery??

wilky has his own lapband clinic. i dont know what sort of waiting list he has... i hope its not long.

Which specialist do you have?? are you going to a clinic or into a hospital?/ what time are you booked in for?? If you like i can email you privately. if you want to email me privately my email addy is with my details... you can see it there.l

its so good to see you on here..... keep posting. im waiting with bated breath to see how you get on.

Did i see you say that you had to have vegemite in hot water?? i love that. did it help you?? it sounds like you went through some tough days leading up to surgery. i certainly will talk to a dietician. thats for sure. Did you get a chance to do that??

i dont know the protocol yet. i will let you know. o.k. ... now ive written a book id better get off here...

'bye for now Kim... all the best for tomorrow.. .which is friday. are you in only for the day?? let us know.... sending you big hugs now. judy
