Hello Alabama!! I'm in Albertville Al. Dr. Groves did my surgery on 3/23/12. I've lost 68lbs. It has been amazing!!

I know I was stuck at 200.6 for about 3 or 4 weeks!! I was starting to get a little discouraged! It drove me crazy!

Yay finally I hit onederland!!!!

I Was told yesterday by a co worker that I was dwindling away!! I just smiled and said "and I'm ok with that" ???ƒ

Ive told everybody!! My family and friends and coworkers, but I'm very blessed cause everyone has been very supportive of my decision to have lap band! And as far as those that say it is a "easy way out" I'd like to punch them in the face!! It is in no way easy matter of fact it was one of the toughest decision I've ever made. My point is I'm proud of myself for the decision I made to have lap band and I usually don't listen to the negative!

I was banded on the 23rd also and I am still very swollen as well!! I can't wear anything other than very big waisted elastics lol!! My belly is bigger now than before my surgery!

I got banded on 3/23/12 too. I'm also having problems burping and a lot of pressure in my chest. I've been walking to try to help with the gas pain it seems to help a little.

That sounds awesome!! I'm gonna have to try it!!

I get my surgery date Monday the 12th when I go for my pre op appointment. I don't think it's sunk in yet that I'm actually gonna be banded, I'm still excited that I got approved!! Thank you all so much!!

Got the call today I'm approved!!!

My surgeons office submitted my paperwork online but since I was using a photo for my 2009 records it was denied. So they turn around and mailed my paperwork. I called ins today to inquire about the status and the lady tells me and I quote "I'm not suppose to tell you this but since they denied it the first time they will prob deny it the second time, but I'm not suppose to tell you that" my heart sunk!! Why would you tell someone that??! I'm praying she is wrong!

My last doctor appointment was sat feb. 25th and I was also submitted Monday. My surgeons office will not schedule surgery until they get the letter of approval so I won't know anything until I hear from insurance company and it's driving me crazy!! It seems like the days drag by while you're waiting for a phone call or the mail to run lol! I'm so nervous and anxious! I hope we both hear something soon!!!

Thanks! Wow that was really quick! What bcbs do you have? I have bcbs of Alabama PPO I think. I'm glad you heard back so soon. Have you had your surgery?

Hi, I went to one of the seminars at my surgeons office. They gave me my packet and the info on what to do.

I just submitted my paper work today and hope to banded in march! I have bcbs of Alabama and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get a quick approval!!

Good luck! I'm 5 5" 255lbs I think my bmi is 42. I also have bcbs. I hope it doesn't take to long for both of us! I started my journey on aug. 24th and I hope to have surgery before April 1st when my deductible resets!

Just submitted all my paper work now the waiting begins! So nervous!!!
