Just by me changing my diet and my way of life my husband has even lost weight! I finally passed him up! Feels great!!!!!

The heating pad worked best for me! It was my best friend. It still is sometimes at night.

Wow, that is so crazy! I had my surgery back in March and I just started having chocolate cravings as well!!! Guess its our body telling us something. Who knows! If it gets to bad I have a piece.

When I went to see the counselor before I was banded she had told me a horror story of a lady that she seen who had the band. Since I heard that I told myself for sure No to cokes! It's now been over year and 3 months since I've had one! My Dr said no to all cokes even beer. I don't drink beer so not a big issue.

LOL! My husband asked me the same thing! I married him when I was skinny why would it be different when I lose the weight!?!? Guys are a little different.

I had that a little with my husband, but I talked him into going on a "diet" with me for support and he has lost more weight then I have. I was band on 3/8/2012 I tell him everyday how good he looks. This is taking the attention off me and on him.

Yeah don't want that issue after surgery! I only coughed a few times and I had a few tears! Ouch!!!!

Can anyone tell me how long it took you to heal in the port area? As far pulling and soreness?

Im right there with y'all! Had my surgery on the 8th of March and the gas pain is insain! Used the gas x and nothing tried to use the bathroom and nothing! Guess what did help me a lot! A heating pad! Where have you been all day! I had a little the 2nd day and thought maybe I had passed the worst part but NOPE! today it hit like no other pain! I'm down 8lbs. Since surgery and since I started pre op diet it have lots 25lbs in 3 weeks! Some motivation but so ready to start feeling better!

Newme2012: how are you feeling now? I was banded on the 8th and still a little sore but I just feel blahhh! The weird "I wanna burp and it makes it to the top on my stomach then stops!" feeling is driving me nut! did you have that?

Does that go away with time? Sure hope so!

I have another question. Does everyone have the weird feeling right in the middle of their stomach and sometimes it's hard to take a deep breath? I'm assuming it's where the band is but not sure. Just want to make sure everyone has this issue and will it go away?

Question: were you starving right after your sugary? I had mine today and ever since I have left there I have been starving! Had some chicken broth but I take it that that just passed right through!! Will it past?

I'm now close to home left the facility at 11:00 and almost home. Besides the port pain I'm doing good! However when I just woke up I had to cough and boy was that a mistake!!!! Ouch!!!! thanks to everyone who said a pray for me! It all went well and no heital Hernia repair! Woot woot! ~Steph

5:45am 3/8/2012 Well I'm on my way! I have to be there at 7:00 and going in at 8:00-8:15. I will post and let everyone know how it went once I'm able to keep my eyes open and able to type! LOL! Ladybug28 & Dees and everyone else. Made it to my pre op meeting and it went pretty well! Meet the Dr and really liked Him! I loved Dr Fox as well but did not get him. Anyways.... So in our group meeting which I had no clue we were doing we talked about a lot of the thing we talk about in here. The advocate let everyone one know that beer was in the past (unless flat) which I think shocked one guy and I think for a sec he was thinking of backing out and the advocate said ( Well do you need the lapband more or AA!) LOL! which of course she was playing! So we got past that then she let everyone know about no sex for a week. Which was no big deal not sure the hubby will think that but it happens! Right!!! Then she told us a funny story! About an older lady who asked if she could have a dr's note or 6 months!!!! Yikes! Dr assured me everything will be fine and I was in good hand! Have to be there in the morning at 7 I'm the first patient so that's great! Wait I saved the best for last!!!!!!! The advocate let us all know she had a surprise for us and we were all quite and was thinking oh no what now?!? Tonight y'all may go out and eat whatever it is you like that you know you can't eat after tomorrow! So!!!!!! I'm on my way to PAPPADEAUX! Crawfish here I come! ~Steph

So........ My pro op Dr meeting is today and going for surgery in the morning at 7:00! Kinda nervous! Please keep me in your prayers! You can never have tooooo many prayers! I know God will keep his hands on me and guide the Dr's hands as well! Down 16lbs from pre op diet! Let's do this!!!

Yup! That's what I'm drinking! Not to bad either.

Not sure on my end. But I have been told not to eat gun once you are banded.

Can't wait!
