You were suppose to get one and take it home with you. i don't know what happened? That was the first thing respiratory told me, continue to use at home to help keep my lungs clear and exercise them post-surgery.

I didn't get one either. The doctors said I was ok. I wouldn't worry about it. Although if you arent feeling right, call them. :) It took me a couple of days to get over the tightness. Tomorrow will be day 7 and I can have full liquids. So excited! :) I'm also finally feeling somewhat "normal".

Thats weird at my hospital all surgery pts get an incentive spirometry. Guess each doc is diifferent, it was on my post-op orders, so guess my doc request his pts have it. I can say it did help me a lot. I agree tht doc should be contacted if this doesn't pass. Tomorrow is day 14 for me and I can start mushies. Good luck on your journey.

Paula- if you make the Jello yourself you can add Protein Powder to it. It tastes good.

how do you put the Protein in with the jello?? ive bought diabetic jello today and ive got my high protein shakes... i would like to combine the two. do you let the jello set? how hard?

hi everyone. Well, after my steak dinner last night i was very uncomfortable in bed.. thought for a time i would have to get up and force vomiting.. i didnt thank goodness. ... so that was a bummer. i took forever to eat my steak but it didnt go down well.. it was beautiful meat. makes me wonder how big my hernia is right now.

Anyway, i saw my anaesthesiast today. we discussed at great length about vomiting. its a real problem with me. so, we got that sorted . i was only in the city for that, we left straight afterwoods.

then i shopped coming home for high Protein meals.. got two containers. i got some baby food, some diet Jello, greek yoghurt, beef stock etc etc. im going to make up some chicken stock and some lamb stock over the weekend and freeze.Im also going to freeze some ice blocks with diabetic lemon juice.< /p>

One thing. the lady who served me when buying the Protein Drinks said to put the Water in the freezer for about 20 minutes before mixing with the protein powder ... put all in the blender. she said it makes all the difference. i dont know why, but thought it was worth mentioning.

I have bloods taken on monday morning so we are travelling once again for that. where i live there are none of those facilites. i will do some more shopping on that day. tuesday morning i have a phone interview with the clinic pre admission... and thursday i have the op. this coming week is going to go really fast im thinking.

i had lunch at McDonalds today. i always get a chicken wrap.(about once a month) i was thinking that it would be the last time ... dont know where we will eat from now on but some things have to change.

Hubbie is just starting to realize how big this thing is.

Congratulations to all those who have just been banded, and to those of you who are being done in a couple of hours.. all the best to you. cheers from Australia.

Have you ever made Jello shots? Without being at home with my recipe book I can tell you that you replace liquid with Isopure or another Protein Drink that is not a shake (gross!). I am pretty sure the recipe book also shows a way to make it with powder. I'll find it when I get home.

Best wishes March bandsters! I cleared my last hurdle yesterday and I will be banded in Atlantis FL 3/21/12. Mostly excited now although still a little scared. My good friend will take off work to accompany me and stay in motel. She will be positive and distract me from worry. I thought I was going by myself. I am grateful. My big concern is my BP always goes way up with anxiety and pain. My blood sugar is not stable or controled now with meds. Too many highs with pain and stress and crashes sometimes when I don't eat. 4 yrs ago I was in acute kidney failure from dehydration from stomach ulcers(I didn't drink anything and my meds damaged kidneys). I have a shunt still in my abdomen from pseudo tumor cerebri which increases my health risk for infection that could spread to my brain. The roller coaster of managing obesity related health issues and meds is the scary part of this for me. For those of you who are younger and healthier CONGRATULATIONS for caring about yourself and your health and doing this before its too late.

Here's the deal. I pray for us all and please join me in prayers.

Hi everyone,

Was banded yesterday and slept the rest of the day. I feel really good but I was hungry last night. I noticed on the sheet AFTER my husband brought me a can of broth and I was able to eat it that I was only supposed to eat 3oz every 3 hours. Well I drank the whole thing which is 8 oz. So now I'm nervous that I ruined something. I also was bummed b/c my hubby asked me to stand on the scale this morning and I was up 5 lbs....but I'm thinking this was from all the fluids they put in me yesterday. I told hi I refuse to weigh again until next week after I've had a chance to pee all this out! Anyone else have that problem?

Ok, sorry but why is your husband all up in your grill?? You need to be the one who wants to weigh. Sorry I don't want to start anything. And of course all the Iv fluids pumping in to you and not walking around a bit makes it an unrealistic number. I'm just sayin

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
