I had 2 oz of broth. They told me to sip it out of medicine cups. It came back up within 30 mins.

I haven't vomitted since but I've only been sipping Water . I hope Breakfast goes better.

Judy I sipped about 0.25 oz at a time. I asked for a different medicine last night but it gave me no Pain relief whatsoever. So this morning they gave me another 1mg of the dilaudid (or however you spell it). I hope it doesn't cause more nausea or vomitting .

Otherwise I feel that I'm doing really well. I've been up and moving and walking and it's really helping the gas. Idk what I would do without you guys support! Luv you guys !

you will be o.k.. in fact you are doing really well even now. great to hear that hou are up and moving around. that should help move the gas quickly. Have you had surgery before?? do you have a history of vomiting with surgery?? why i ask you this is.... ive had so many ops over the years. over 20 of them, ive lost count. i have a problem with vomiting that is getting worse as i have each surgery now. the last surgery was two years ago. that was a minor one, i wasnt truly out to it that time. the time before it was a knee replacement and i was so sick afterwoods. this is really concerning me now. im going to have to talk with the anesthesiests next week about it all. they need to know my history. especially when its band surgery. i dont like the though of heaving my stomach out when its just had a band put around it. Keep us posted on how you go. i hope that your nausea has gone by the time you read this.

Getting banded on Thursday, I'm so nervous! I keep having a fear that I'm going to do this and nothing will change. Mostly I worry that once I'm banded I will still have the same hunger pains but I just won't be able to do anything about it. I think I'm just freaking myself out....anyone else have this problem? Or has anyone already been done that can tell me I'm freaking out for no reason?

I've had tonsilectomy and I don't think I threw up ... But now that I think back on it I may have. I remember some type of pain in my incisions in the back of my throat bc of the acid that was coming up.

Then I had jaw alignment surgery . I threw up as soon as I woke uP. Yesterday they gave me An anti nausea patch and some nausea meds in my IV. I still threw up. I think I'm doing much better now and thanks for all of your concern. I hope they will find some relief for you so that your process goes smoother.

Sunshyne068- I am day 6 post op. Do you have any anti nausea meds? It is not good to vomit, so I have heard. Also go very slowly about 1-2 min between sips of ur broth this may help. The pain you are feeling is gas pain. Try drinking warm tea and take some gas x. It has done wonders for me. I have not actually had any pain because I have been taking gas x 3-4 times a day about 5 hrs apart and drinking hot tea first thing in the morning and again before bed. CONGRATS and best of luck on your journey..

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
