Lap-Band And Medicaid

Does anyone know if medicaid covers the lap-band? i live in Polk county Fl.

Yes, I was on medicaid when I had my surgery. It took me almost three weeks to get the green from medicaid then I had to do an ekg and a blood test then they scheduled my surgery. I think that they look to see if you have two or more what they call co-morbidies (high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholestral) and a high bmi! Hope this helps.

Yes. My mom is going to have to pay $1,800 but medicaid picks up the rest.
