  1. Can’t really get anything down. They have me on clear liquids but I can feel how much swelling I have so it’s hard get an ounce every 15 minutes.
  2. Heading in now also. So nervous! Last weight 265.
  3. Cheated too and then called a wise friend who has been through this too and she said Do you really think you’re the only one to cheat? Put it into prospective. Lol
  4. Same here!!! How are you doing on the liquid diet?
  5. I would say increase your protein in the evening. That has helped me anyway. The good thing about protein is that it makes you burn twice the calories. (per my doctor) Hope this helps. I know for me night time eating is my enemy. I fight myself wanting to snack. I bought some frozen fat free lemonade and just eating that slowly in the evening helps me feel like Im getting something.
  6. To me it feels like severe heartburn when I am stuck. I know it sounds weird but someone on here told me they jump up and down and it helps....well I tried it and it worked for me too!
  7. Jen75 I am glad you said that! I was unsure if anyone else was feeling the way I was about the gym. It sounds funny because that was not me before, but now if I dont go I get very irritable! I also know that my sister had gastric bypass in 2004 and did not deal with her eating habits very well and after a few problems with the surgery she turned to pain pills. It has definitly been an eye opener for me. The food addiction must be dealt with.

    Scared Of What Will Happen

I was banded on Jan 3rd and have not thrown up once...knock on wood. One thing I have noticed about people is that they do not like change. I know for me I was the "fat" friend and when my friends found out what I was doing, they were a little upset. Not because they want me fat but because they are comfortable with how I was and did not want me to change. The thing is...being over weight means being unhealthy most of the time. YOu have to do what is right for you. It is not going to be easy but I would do it over again a million times over. I have lost 35 lbs and am on my way to a new me. Already my clothes are loose and I feel so good. Do not go into it thinking that it is a miracle surgery, go into it knowing it is a tool that WILL help you though and to heck with the nay sayers!!! lol
  9. I really like Odwalla Protein Chocolate drink...It makes me feel full. I am sure you are tired of protein shakes by now but I buy these at my local convenient store and they really taste like chocolate milk. Hope this helps.
  10. As much as the liquid diet sucks, it is very helpful for after the surgery! If you can get through the liquid diet you can do anything! Plus its nice to watch how fast you lose weight that first two weeks.
  11. I am currently on lap band fill no2 and have a question. In the beginning after my second fill I felt some restriction but now am wondering if it could have been just me being swollen. I do get full on less food post band but feel like I'm eating more then I should. Am I supposed to wait till I'm full to stop eating or could this cause my band to slip? I feel like I was doing better before my fill. The dr said I lost7lbs and was doing great but since my appt I feel like I'm not doing as good. Maybe I expected too much from the fill.

    Food Stuck!

I was actually glad to get my first stuck episode out of the way. I had not had one until my secound fill but have had two now. Mainly when I dont pay attention to my chewing. Walking and jumping helped me both times. I was terrified before so it was good to see if I could handle it.

    I Don't Know What I Need

OMG! Thanks for that blog! I was starting to feel like I was the only one who didnt want to disappoint the rest of my food by not eating it. In fact, I do better eating with my hubby because i just hand it to him and like the natural garbage disposal he is (he eats everything and doesnt gain a lb) he takes care of it. I feel good he feels full and we both are happy. Yet, if I eat alone I have to really concentrate!
  14. I weigh myself every morning. It helps keep me honest. It is like a tool. At night if I know im going to weigh myself the next morning it keeps me from even wanting to snack. I guess Im addicted to the scale too!!!
  15. I am post op 3 weeks but have a question. I have made the choice to go no soda and am currently on my fourth week off of it. I am wondering though about a friend who is fixing to have surgery. She is a soda addict and is wondering if it is possible to have a small glass of soda after lapband???

    It's Working!

Well I went for my second fill on Thursday and found I am finally losing weight again. I was down 7 more pounds in four weeks. The doctor was pretty excited for me and for once in my life told me to continue what I was doing. Then they added 2 more oz. I did liquids for the rest of the day then mushies today. I have been full all day. I hope that this continues and I have somehow lucked into my sweet spot. Thanks for all the encouragement!!!
  17. Just had a question. Did your doctor tell you how many calories that you need to be at a day? Mine said not to watch just as long as you get 100g of protein a day you would lose weight. I feel like since I have started to eat I have stopped losing weight. I get between 1200 to 1400 cal a day which is so different from the 3000 i used to get..lol. You would think I would be losing. Is the the infamous plateau every one talks about? I have lost 20 lbs including preop diet.

    It's Working!

Congrats!!! Can I ask you what you normally eat during the day? I have seems to plateau at 22lbs and cant seem to get past it.
  19. Thanks everyone! My doctor says not to get caught up on calories just on protein. It is just hard to not think about calories i guess.

    Had My First Fill

Mck - When I drink it it just didnt go down through my band so they said it was too much so they took some out. It was chalky but not bad. I was definitly glad they did it with the scan.

    Had My First Fill

I got mine on Tuesday! They put in 4 cc and had me do the test with barium. When it didnt go down they removed 2 cc and had me do it again. It felt so weird but I definitly feel like it has made a difference!

    Self Sabotage

My surgery was on Jan 3rd of this year and have lost 21 lbs with my pre surgery diet included. I have the same problem. I eat and can fill the full feeling but cant seem to put the food down because it is good. I just got my first fill today and am hoping that I will get back on track now but there is no for sure way to know. I started my workout program last week and have been feeling good about that but am wishing I could hate food. lol. I think we just need to know that there are more out there like us and we need to consentrate on why we went for the surgery in the first place. Maybe even make small goals each week to try to win. This week im going to eat slower and try to pay attention to what my band is telling me. even the best tool wont work if we dont do it right, I guess. Good luck to you and keep in touch maybe we can get through this together!!!
  23. Tomorrow I will be post op 11 days and I am so hungry. I have eaten more today then I have in the last two weeks. I even cheated alittle and had some string cheese and ice cream. I need to eat real food! I am supposed to be eating inbetween full liquid diet and mushies but I am not sure what that consists of??? I know that I am in bandsters hell right now I just have to figure out how to get through it. I need to chew something.

    Post-Op Day 27: Catch Up

I am with you...the scale has slowed but the comments haven't! In my twisted little brain somethings says that they are just saying it to make me feel better. I really wish I could have an out of body experience and take a look myself. I guess they are correct when they say that we our are worst enemy! Good luck and keep us posted!
