Had To Get A Small Lap Band Unfill

Hello forum, I had to get a small unfill, I went to the Dr. on 11/28 and I was up to 7cc. I liked the restriction and the results I was getting, however, I was having challenges drinking water. I lost 15lbs in less then 3 weeks. So, I call on Thursday and went in on Friday and the took .5 cc out bring me to 6.5cc. My nurse said that was too much weight to lose in that short period of time. I'm not going to lie I liked the food restriction and the weight lost, but I was so thirsty it was crazy, Anywho I'm hoping this small unfill don't make me start gaining the 15lbs back. I will be very mindful of what I eat and how much I eat. Thanks for letting me share,

Getting an unfill is not failure! I had one. You may just find that your losses continue at a fine clip now that you are able to eat nutritionally dense foods.

For me, when I got stuck on mashed potatoes then yogurt, I knew I was in trouble. I lost 7 lbs in 1 week. Like you, I loved it, but knew it was too fast. After the unfill, I didn't even plateau, if memory serves. My loss just slowed down. But then, my losses were never steady.

I bet you feel much better now, though, eh? I sure did, it was immediate relief. Also, I was able to go back a month later and have the amount removed plus a bit more put back in. Bands are our fickle friends, aren't they?

Yes, it was instant relief. You have lost a nice amount of weight, but I've read a lot of stories of ppl getting a unfill and start gaining weight back. This was the most weight I lost since getting the band.
