i broke down the other day... the night before my 1st fill.... i ate 2 slices of pizza.............. yeah thats 700 cals just for one "meal" if i can call standing infront of the fridge stuffing my face that! I was so mad at myself. Do you think it stopped there.... NOOOOOOOOOOOO 3 fun sized bars of chocolate.... REALLY.

everyone goes thru this...

I even asked my husband and txt my mother "should i have some pizza" both said why not you been good"

i know its not worth kicking yourself over but it still sucks!

HANG in there get that darn candy away from you! put it on someone elses desk!

I keep a bowl of chocolate on my desk at work, full of the good stuff, twix, kit kats, almond joys, Peanut Butter cups and peanut M&M's, for co-workers when they come visit me. I almost never eat it, I like having it there because it helps me with my "will power" and helps me not feel deprived. If I want 1 I'll eat it, but just one, maybe once a week, sometimes once a month, especially during my lady time, at those times I might take 2 lol. I allow myself to have them because I believe in moderation, not deprivation..deprivation and dieting are what got me fatter than I'd ever been in my life. Being able to do this didn't happen over night, after getting the band I've been able to "control" myself a little better but it doesn't stop me from anything other than over eating healthy food! I can't eat 10lbs of grilled chicken or salad, there's just no room for it, but 10lbs of candy or a full size bag of chips.. there probably is lol

But on Halloween I couldn't control myself, I probably had 5 peices, I lost count after a while.. and I only stopped because someone was working at the other desk in my office, otherwise I would have kept going.. I was a little annoyed with myself, but I'm only human. No one is perfect at this. I've had my band almost a year and it doesn't keep me from devouring that whole bowl of candy that sits there everyday, looking at me, whispering my name, I do, I stop me. Candy, especially chocolate, goes down like butta lol, the band isn't much help in this area.. So I hope no one here thinks the band will make those cravings or impulses to binge on anything go away, or that it will make it impossible to eat alot of "treats" it may keep cravings at bay.. but they never completely go away, that's the part we have to work on.

Don't beat yourself up for eating too much of something, you'll gradually learn how to control it if you want to. Hopefully you will learn how to co-exist with "bad" foods or treats without overdosing on them. When I over do it on something, I get up the next day and start over, that's all we really can do. Good luck!

i dont think that the band will help me with that area but im always hungry...and i go straight for the candy - candy is my absolute weakness - everyone has theirs and this is mine - one piece...no way ....it keeps going and going and going...especially the kit kat - that chocolately crunch gets me everytime!! aaaand the worst part is, i did get it out of my house - i brought it to work - just like everyone else did...and you know whats so funny? everyone brings their candy to work and still eats it!!! you might as well just leave it home LOLOLOLOLOL

i just want to feel satisfied enough not to want it....

Once you start feeling full, your cravings should be more under control.. I know when I'm starving I get ravenous and just want to eat whatevers in site or whatever is easiest to get my hands on. I have to always make sure I don't get to that point of starvation, or else I'm done for, even with the band lol.. Just hang in there!

These evil candy dealers need to "buy it back", they donate it to troops!

That is possible with the band....

But for Halloween even I had 1 miniature size snickers. But that was it.

I had my own business in Michigan, where I did Chocolates, and Fudge.

If you new how much fat is in chocolate, you would loose your itch for it.

It's not healthy at all... But 1 x every Halloween isn't going to kill me.

But it is very fattening.

Wrong I have sabotaged myself but today I was going through the internet trying to find some help with sugar addiction and I found this article about sugar. So Im sharing and I think with the holidays coming we all need to help each other with this.

http://www.healingcancernaturally.com/sugar-health-effects-risks.html

Tomorrow no sugar for me or the next day or next and Im going on vacation Sunday to Dominican republic but I vow I am only eating healthy nutritious food because I cannot let the holidays get me down. No no no I wont.:Banane51: :Banane51: :Banane51: :Banane53: :Banane54: :Banane57:

Sugar is not my problem it is salty stuff like popcorn, My favorite - chips and salsa at the mexican food places. I tell them not to bring them when my banded friends and I go. But doesn't work when my husband goes. He must have them. One of our favorite places will bake them for you instead of giving you fried ones but it just takes one and forget the meal.

Cheri

Sanction have a great vacation!

I am new here today... and only two weeks out from my sleeve surgery on the 23rd. I am amazed I have kept my calories down to 467 today so far... that leaves me almost 750 left for dinner and maybe a snack. This is going to be tough for two weeks... but I have to believe I can do it!

Hey everyone. I'm new here so I thought I should introduce myself. I am 53y/o and am scheduled for Gastric Bypass on June 25th, 2025. I'm located in San Antonio, Texas. I will be having my surgery in Tiajuana Mexico. I've wanted this for years, but I always had insurance where bariatric procedures were excluded. Finally I am able to afford to pay out of pocket.  I can't wait to get started, and I hope I'm prepared for the initial period of "hell". I know what I have signed up for, but I'm sure the good to come will out way the temporary period of discomfort and feelings of regret. I'd love to find people to talk to who have been through the same procedure or experience before. So I look forward to meeting you all. Hope you have a great week!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

I hope your surgery on Wednesday goes well. You will be able to do all sorts of new things as you find your new normal after surgery. I don't know this from experience yet, but I am seeing a lot of positive things from people who have had it done. Best of luck!

Life as a big person had limited my life to what I knew I could manage to do each day. That was eat. I hadn't anything else to look forward to. So my eating choices were the best I could dream up. I planned the cooking in managable lots in my head and filled my day with and around it.

Now I have a whole new big, bigger, biggest, best days ever. I am out there with those skinny people doing stuff i could never have dreamt of. Food is now an after thought. It doesn't consume my day. I still enjoy the good home cooked food but I eat smaller portions. I leave food on my plate when I am full. I can no longer hear my mother's voice saying eat it all up, ther are starving children in Africa who would want that!

I still cook for family feasts, I love cooking. I still do holidays but I have changed from the All inclusive drinking and eating everything everyday kind to Self catering accommodation. This gives me the choice of cooking or eating out as I choose. I rarely drink anymore as I usually travel alone now and I feel I need to keep aware of my surroundings.

I don't know at what point my life expanded, was it when I lost 100 pounds? Was it when I left my walking stick at home ? Was it when I said yes to an outing instead of finding an excuse to stay home ? i look back at my last five years and wonder how loosing weight has made such a difference. Be ready to amaze yourself.

BTW, the liquid diet sucks, one more day and you are over the worst. You can do it.
