Banded 2 years ago. Do my best to answer your questions

Hello Everyone,

I was banded July 27, 2009. Since then I've lost 135 lbs. It's been one heck of a ride! If you are considering having it done, or maybe you're still a new bandster, I'll be happy to answer questions of what it's been like for me.

I was banded March 2011 in So. Cal. everything has been going good . Then around August I can eat more again and once in a while I get sharp pain in my upper stomach . I've also moved to a different state and lost our insurance so now Im having the hardest time finding a lap-band dr. The one near me says they wont see me till they get my records but yet they wont take my name so they can call to tell me they got my records , almost like givng me the run around. Feeling so frustrated : (

You are entitled to your own medical records. You should call your surgeon that performed the surgery and request them to release your records to you. That way you can personally have them for yourself and take it to whatever doctor you pick.

I lost about 10 lbs a month but have stopped losing since Sept. 20 th. My Dr. told me between 2-3 lbs a weeks was normal and healthy. I really think it depends on the individual.

I thought just having them faxed over would have been easier but I m starting to see it's not. Tomorrow Im calling a different Dr. to see if they are any better with helping me. They are 40 minutes away compared to 10 minutes. But I've been trying to get in this office now for over a month and they seem to not want to deal with me.

You are the customer. Remember if they don't want to help you now then maybe they are not what you need in the long run. Unfornately between doctors and insurance companies you are forced to take matters into your own hands. GOOD LUCK!!!
