Yeah Healing, blah, blah, blah but I'm still pissed!

I'm two weeks out. Gas pains are long gone. I'm eating eggs now and very soft foods. Everything is staying down. I'm not tired or weak. I have been tracking everything using myfitnesspal.

Yet, I have that feeling in the back of my head. That voice that whispers to me, "we are not losing weight, wtf?! Do something". Yes, I'm a total type A personality. When it comes to dieting and working out I'm hard on myself. Yes, Texas Bandit goes a little cray-cray every now and then.

So now, I am questioning the whole healing period notion. I kinda feel like its BS, but you know I'm always a skeptic. So i'm trying to prevent the cray-cray from happening. I'm trying to stay away from the gym. I will overdo it, I know I will. Thats just me.

I should have not started weighing myself. Thats where I went wrong. I weigh everyday out of curiosity at first, but now every morning the scale hasnt move I curse it. I wanna throw it. Before all this I would weigh myself every 2 weeks.

I feel bloated. Ugh.... I just dont know what to do. How long does this period last? Y aint I losing weight? I'm eating so little, but I feel like i'm eating a lot. I get full quick and I'm not even hungry. Should I give up oatmeal? I think its the oatmeal. Befor surgery I hadnt had oatmeal in about a year. More Water maybe?? Help!

  • I'm surprised your doctor has not told you that the 6 weeks after your surgery is NOT for losing weight. You should NOT get on the scale, and just try to relax and heal. I was banded on September 1s

  • It sounds to me like you know the score and you're just venting. Vent away! It IS frustrating and counter-intuitive and we all want to be the exception to the "healing period" rule. I think no matt

  • do not obsess over the scale, it will drive you insane. go by how your clothes fit. there is a 2 month "lag time' between the scale and inches lost. you lose a couple of dress sizes, and it shows in y

Ok I'm trying to be tactful but yeah I don't need to be told to be thankful I have a job. Yeah without my job I would probably be in hell and homeless. I don't know what I said that could be taken that I wasn't thankful. I didn't realize this was a competition on whose life sucks the most.

The purpose of my thread is to see what was going on and if others were in the same boat. I'm 2 weeks post op and a newbie. So like my fellow newbies we are making our way thru bandster hell. I don't think chastising and belittling someone or flippant remarks is helpful to anyone.

I know you old timers apparently have it all figured out. Well Us newbies do not. Especially when real life constraints get in the way. Within the past month I have been through hell. I don't like to get into my personal life on a message board but jeez when someone assumes I'm just make excuses or just being lazy without asking then that's where I have to speak up.

Again you got it wrong...

This is not a contest on whose life sucks, mine sure doesn't... It is what is. Own up to that, that's life...

We all know that the Newbie's have a 1001 questions that's not unusual its expected. and the Veteran tries to help, that's expected.

But go back to your first page, and read what the people are telling you.

Enough is to much. That's on your first page ! So some where you have been doing some complaining or something and their tired of it.

Just get advice "PAY ATTENTION !" and deal with it. That's not much.

repeat

Well if you read my posts after the original one I said no more scale and the conversation has moved on. So I guess I just don't understand your whole point. It just seems like you just read the original post and that's it.

Doing some complainig somewhere? What the hell are you talking about. Plus if someone doesn't want to read or participate in a thread I started then don't!!! It's that easy. I came here to vent and so have others. If u don't like it then get lost.

I just don't understand your tone and need to be negative, condescending and a jerk. I thought this site was for support. Not to berate people or what not. We are all adults and no need to talk to people like their stupid.

Jeez I thought I was the temperamental one!! Lady you need serious help!! Lol.

Hmm..maybe step back a little and breathe, honestly. You're taking this much further than it even needs to be taken. Your body is healing..HEALING. You were just CUT open, had some foreign object placed around your stomach, a living organ, and you're expecting quick weight-loss? It's not going to happen. I know you don't want to hear it, sorry but, you're healing. There is nothing you can do right now that is going to make the scale move. If anything somehow stop getting on the scale.

That's all the advice I can give you. Either accept that you're healing or don't..if you don't then enjoy driving yourself crazy.

This was the reply after your first post.

So you need the Honey... Give it a Break !

Yes someone already said that on page 1. I said ok healing but didn't understand how healing hinders weight loss. Once again if my doctor would have told me this in the beginning then I wouldn't even had started this thread. Jesus. I heard about the healing period from the posters on here. True results never told me this either!!!

I understand advice and appreciate it but you need to go back and read your posts. They are a bit harsh in tone and condescending. That's what I am referring too. You should be happy you have a job? Uh ok...oh yeah that's not belittling.

So no I'm not taking your advice. Can you leave please?

Glad to ! but in this economy Yes ! you should be very Happy that you even have a Job ! Up here in Michigan, they have all moved into different States, and Countries. So I see 8 out of 10 unemployed, and have lost their home.

So belittle you ! NO WAY ! I'm talking FACTS ! So you should be glad you have a job. I live next door to a Surgical Nurse. You think she has a job ? NO !

Why the people don't even have insurance, So elective surgery has to weight. Results LAID OFF !

So you can dream on about harsh posting from me. But it don't really happen,,,

Most people that read my posts, know this is True.

So I guess you just stay in Left Field, and life will go on BYE !
