Too many Lap Band fills?

I just wanted to find out if others have had to go back to the doctor over and over again. I have lost about 40 lbs after 11 months of have the band. I have come to a complete halt. I have heartburn after eating and feel hungry, but I also know that I am eating too much and too often. Any thoughts on how much is too much to visit the doctor?

Sounds like you are too tight. There is no magic number on visits or amount of saline in your band. You just have to keep going back until you find your green zone.

I agree. Your surgeon is there to provide a service to you, both before and after surgery. Its their job to make sure that you are reaping the benefits of the lapband. I would say most people who have had fills have gone in multiple times until they've gotten it just right. Even then you may need another adjustment a little while later. Its a process, not a quick fix. I'd say get in there and tell them its not right! Eating too much can also be a sign that you aren't full enough.

I still go to the doctor every month and I am almost 9 months post op. I am filled to a little less than 5ccs, and have gotten a fill almost every month (except maybe 2). I've gotten tiny fills of about .25 for the last 4 months or so, just enough to compensate for the loss of my fad pad. Good luck to you!!!
