I need help lining out my calories/eating

I've been off track just doing liquids for a couple weeks because my band was tight. I started eating again last week and I'm trying to track everything daily.

My problem is if I don't track I find I eat mindlessly and eat too much. If I do track I don't eat enough.

Today for example I've had 900 calories and that's after eating supper and my Protein shake. I have coffee for Breakfast and then a shake a little while later. Then I had lunch and a snack and supper.

I could increase my calories by lowering my protein and/or adding more carbs.

Today so far I'm at 900 calories for the day, 35 carbs, and 108 grams of protein.

I feel like the 900 calories is too low though. My current weight is 163.

Or should I just eat meat that isn't quite as lean? That would up my calorie count also. Not sure which way to go.

Eat meat that isn't so lean. 900 calories is too low. If you're working out you definitely need to up it. Do you like nuts? Almonds, peanuts, and other nuts are high in fats which will boost your overall calories easily. 28 almonds has 160 calories I believe.

I agree with Reverie. I used to make up some of my calorie deficit by weighing out and snacking on mixed nuts as my evening snack. You don't have to eat too many to get some calories. I'd figure out how many I needed and weigh out enough nuts to equal that number of calories.

I also have issues some days getting in my calories. What I normally do is add both a mid morning and mid afternoon snack even if I'm not hungry - it is normally something small like string cheese or babybel light that together amount to about 100 calories. Like reverie said, nuts are a great way to get a decent amount of calories in without too much volume and I have also been looking at pepperoni (someone on here had a post about microwaving it or baking it so it turns crunchy...a serving of regular pepperoni has like 160 calories and no carbs so that might work also.
