Any July 2011 Bandsters?

Hey There,

Just looking for any July 2011 banders. I just started my process, but as that I am "self-pay", I am on a fast track to surgery. Although, not terribly obese (bmi 34), I am using lap band surgery as a tool for continued success after loosing weight. I have always been able to join a program(diet or exercise or prescription) and loose weight.....I've done it several times with several different programs (not a good thing), but I always gain the weight back and more. Now that I am in my 40s, it is harder to loose and faster to come back. No more, I say! I want to be heathy in my future - family history/genetics dictates that I will/can be using a walker or wheel chair from degenerative bones and joints, heart disease, diabetes. I am trying to steer clear of that but still keep seeing myself heading in that direction, so now is the time for further action. Although apprehensive about going under, I am reading all the good things about the lap band procedure and am hoping that it is just a little more than the tubiligation and endemetrial ablasion that I had done last year. At least, I am thinking of it that way, so as to not scare myself too badly!

  • Hi Lisa (that's my sister's name!) Wow, we should stick together. I am also self pay and expecting surgery sometime in July. I have a BMI of 33 and have also lost hundreds and gained them back over

  • Anyone else dreading the preop liquid diet?

With only 2 more weeks until surgery.....I'm sort of tempted to go buy something that doesn't fit. Like a pair of jeans that is a size or two too small. I'm a size 20, and most stores don't sell size

Today is my last day of FOOD FREEDOM!( So I’ve planned my perfect “Last Day Diet” before I descend into the horrible world of Optifast Meal Replacement… (aka Pre-Op) =/

Breakfast: Bacon and Egg Roll from the take away shop next door… SO YUMMY!

Lunch: Gnocchi and homemade pasta sauce…. Yummier!!!

Afternoon Tea: Carrot Cake after gym…. GOD I love cake!

Dinner: Chinese food from my friend Steffie’s restaurant!

Drinks: Midori Illusion, Diet Coke and Strawberry Milkshake!

I'm right there with you as tonight is my last day of food freedom. I have two weeks of Slim-Fast High Protein Meal Replacement Shakes to look forward to.

Tonight, homemade turkey pot pie, ice tea and apple pie/ice cream for dessert. Tomorrow, Vanilla Slim Fast X4!

Best of luck on your pre-op!

I made a little banner thing for us July folks....here is the link. If you'd like it, just cut and paste it on your signature page. Also, I'm not too tech savvy, but when I made it, the background was red, white and blue (for 4th of July), but when it publishes, it changes to some orangish color? Anyone know how to fix this? Or anyone want to change it at all?

Under "Effects" - The slider on the sparkle effect just changes the colour not the amount of sparkles! =)

Hi Again All,

I am getting so excited! I just ordered some more samples online and added a ticker to my posts. I love reading all of the encouraging words and about the experiences you are all going through. I am so happy that I found this site!

I have about two weeks and two days left before I am banded! Woohoo!

Hello Everyone!

I have been checking out the site for the last 6 or so months as I jumped through my insurance's hoops waiting for approval. I am happy to say that barring any unforeseen problems I will be banded July 14th!! HOORAY!

I am 32, mother of 2 in Massachusetts, with a family history of obesity and a BMI of 43. I have lost 17 lbs since starting this process, and am slated to begin my preop diet on Wed. What I am most looking forward to is relief from Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis. This is such a great way to make new connections with likeminded people, and am excited to join the group!

This might be TMI but is anyone else constipated fro. Pre-op diet? Day three here...nine more days :)

Hey there MassMommyRebecca!

Welcome to LBT! I see that you're from Massachusetts, I'm so excited to see another person from mass! I am being banded on July 5th at UMass. Where are you from?

Welcome! I too am a newbie and I'm getting banded July 13th. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. I have had problems with plantar fascitis as well. Can't wait to get this weight off my joints.

I'm here if you need me.

I am Metro West, in Medway :) Getting banded in Natick- we'll have to keep up with one another. Where are you from?

Haven't started my pre-op yet, but my doctor said we could use stool softners if we got contstipated. Not looking forward to that aspect. Good lock on the pre-op!

Thank you Tammy!

Holy cow....7 lbs lost in 3 days on the pre-op diet. Mercy!! I hope the scale is accurate. I'll know for sure when I go to the doc office on Tuesday for the pre-op, but I'm really curious!!

YEAH!!! I hope I do equally as well.

I am on the Millbury/Worcester line. So I'm only about 30 minutes from you, so cool! Its good to see a local on the forum. You're going to love this group, everyone is sooo supportive!

We'll definitely have to keep up with one another. When is your surgery date? I'm going in a week from Tuesday...yikes! (in a good yet scared way lol)

:D

I know I may be the only one out there but I am not hungry at all on my pre op liquid diet. I'm completely satisfied physically. Mentally, I'm still hungry. I want to eat everything in sight just to chew lol

I feel the same way. I hate jello and I even resorted to having that because I could sort of chew it!
