Feeling Great about Losing Weight!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I just have to share because I'm feeling so good about myself and I'm afraid it might end!! I even thought maybe there's something wrong with me I'm so happy!! Just over the past two to three weeks, it seems as if everyone has started to notice my weight loss. I've never had so much attention in my life and I can't believe the reactions I'm getting from friends, co-workers, and even total strangers!! The best by far was I met my husband for lunch and as I walked in his boss looked me straight in the face and said, "You look like a movie star!" I was flabbergasted and so unbelievably flattered. He had never seen me heavy so I thought this was really interesting. Of course, his next line was what are you doing with him (meaning my incredible husband!!!) You know guys and these guys are in the demolition business so they're pretty rough, but it just made my day!

I'm even more motivated now that these things have been happening and I don't want it to end!! Just had to share this because only people in this forum would understand where I'm coming from. This side effect of losing weight (which I did solely for my health and not appearances) is just the icing on the cake!!!

Have a great week everyone,

Siobhan

:P

That is awesome!!! Wor-what a compliment! I am sure your husband is so proud to introduce you to everyone! I read in your other post that men are holding doors more often. I, too, found that when I was thinner (7 years ago) that I had a lot more doors held open for me. I can't wait to experience some of these NSVs too! You go girl!!!:D

Thank you so much everyone, it's so great hearing everyone's stories of success and knowing the challenges that we face are shared by everyone on this board! I guess that's why I love this web site...

Bella Luna, I've lost approximately 67 pounds, not a heck of a lot compared to some on here but I'm thrilled! It did take me quite a while due to some complications I experienced with my gall bladder and a misdiagnosis. Everything is perfect now and I started losing again in February/March, since then I'm down another 36 pounds. I still have about 32 to go, when I mentioned this to someone, he actually said, don't be crazy you should stay right where you are!!! I know he's wrong but it made my day to hear this!!!

Have a great day, all!

Good for you. I was at my dr.'s office for a check up one day and she asked me "are you happier". I just sat there for a minute then I said. "Wow, ya, I am. I never thought I was unhappy but I am soooo much happier". I didn't even realize how unhappy I was. It's crazy the differences the band can make in our lives in so many different ways.

Congrats to you and keep up the good work!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
