You will probably go about a week after surgery.the thing you have to realize is tha you put your whole body through this ordeal. Its about same time after having a baby. It will be a lot softer or lose due liquids so don't freak out.

If you get too paranoid call your doctor and see what he or she might recommend.

It took me about a week to have a BM. Also don't be surprised if it isn't much, you haven't eaten solids in a while. Good luck!

I had my surgery on the 10th and I didn't have one until today when I took a sopository (eeek!) but it worked and made me feel better. It was very small though.

It takes a little bit - but remember what the above people said, "liquids in, liquids out" I freaked personally until I read that my liquid problem was incredibly common, if not constant for most banders

Hello!!! First of all, CONGRATS to all my fellow lap banders!!! I was banded 5/10/11 and I had my first BM 2 days after, then skipped a day, I had one today, but now i'm kind of constipated  I really need to make sure to drink plenty of water so it doesn't keep happening... I wouldn't worry to much unless you havent gone past a week. Bring it up to your doctor on your post of vist. Good luck!
