Okat, I went to my appointment with my cardiologist. She was super young with a Harley shirt under her scrubs- she must be a resident- I can't imagine her being a Doctor! Her phone kept going off down the hall and she had to leave to shut it off-the ringtone was the music to "Kill Bill." WTH? Then I saw her texting-and taking personal calls about her kids in the hallway. Then she looks at me and says "You're getting a lapband? You just don't look like someone who would get a lapband" WTH does that mean? Okay- I carry my weight evenly - BUT I am 246 pounds!

She said my EEG (or whatever it is) had some lines that went down-she said that can be normal difference. They gave me a ECO-son0gram? That's a ultrasound of the heart. They scheduled me for a stress test on Tuesday.

Did anyone else have to do a stress test? What do they make you do? I am hoping everything is okay- I feel really healthy but I do get out of breath going uphill-but I would think anyone over a 100 overweight would!

Yup, I had to do a stress test. However, I didn't have to do the treadmill because I have a bad knee. They have to get your heart up to a certain number of beats per minute and make sure all the muscles around the heart work properly. This tells them if there are any possible blockages. Nothing to be concerned with! I'm sure everything will be just fine. Your EKG was probably off because you were getting irritated at the doctor LOL! Good luck to you!

I had to take a stress test a few years ago(not related to getting banded). They hooked be up to all these electrodes and monitors, made we walk on a treadmill for ( forget how long), but the speed was kinda intense and i work out. Once your about to pass out they make you get off lay on the table and try to get a reading on your heart. Kind of annoying! LOL

I had to do a stress test as well, it was on a treadmill and lasted about 5-10 minutes it wasn't that hard. Good luck!!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
