How do you know if your band has "slipped"?

Good day everyone. Just quick question to any of you who had a confirmed band slip, or slippage ... How did you know? Was there pain associated with the slippage? Could you feel it at all. At the actual time it slipped, or afterward? Did you ever find out WHY it slipped in the first place? Thank you!

I've never had a slip but the common symptoms are a sudden loss of restriction or sometimes too tight of restriction that doesnt allow you to keep anything down, including water/liquids.

Slips usually occur in those who keep their bands too tight and are constantly vomiting and PBing.
