Why do you have to be on a liquid diet for 3 weeks after surgery before you can even start eating soft foods? This is driving me crazy!! Does anybody know the answer. What happens if you do eat food?

I was told to let the band get secured in your stomach. I was also told the first few weeks after the band is placed that is the greatest risk of slippage.

I just got my band yesterday and hate the liquid diet but gonna stick to it. :(

I suggest staying with liquids and give your body a change to heal.
