I Survived! Banded on April 13!

Well I must say I was quite nervous about the surgery and process. I made it!!! I am banded- now on the recovery- my skin around the strips is red- they say that I may be allergic to the sterile strips- Anyone have this issue and what did you do?

Hi! I was banded on 4/13 as well :) I'm very happy to run across someone who knows what I am going through! I also stayed very red around those strips as well, and I believe they are right...it's just an allergic reaction. If it is just red around the edges I wouldn't be overly concerned. Hope things are going well so far!

I am 14 days out and also had/have the red around the steri strips. The three of five that have fallen off, the red is nearly gone but the others...still red and itchy but certainly dont want to take them off before they are ready and leave an open wound so I have just dealt with it. I know mine is a mild allergy because I also react to medical tape and those sticky dots they put on you to attach leads during heart testing. UGH
