yes definitely. i also had a lot of pain in the center of my chest and called my dr and spoke to a nurse. she said it's extremely common. mine went away completely and i could breathe fine after about 4 days. it's been a week and i feel great now. hang in there!

I had that about a week and a half post op and I was worried I was getting pneumonia , but I just kept taking deep breaths., I knew it would hep and it only lasted 2 days, so I knew it was ok

Thanks, just talked to the dr. office, when they did my band, they also repaired a heinal hernia, the nurse today said it was pretty large and all the discomfort was normal. She said to continue with breathing exercises and it should be better soon!

Yes, it happened to me about 5 day's post op, I thought it was normal, when I went to my 1 week post op appointment I was told pain in the chest is not normal and they sent me to emergancy right then. They were checking for a blood clot come to find out I had Fluid in my lungs. Though I was using the "blow thing", I apparently wasn't using it enough. Once I began using it more often the pain went away, took a couple of day's.
