Helloooo

Anyone from New Jersey here? I'm in central NJ, Matawan.

I am looking for a REALLY GOOD surgeon that takes Medicare.

I agree with Alexandra. I have Dr. Pupkova from Advanced Laproscopic Surgeons and I really like them. The listen to you and support you throughout the whole process.

Hi all you Jersey people!! :-D

There is a NJ board?

Morristown is a bit too far for me to drive. It's more than an hour away, but heck, if I can't find someone really good, I'll drive it.

I am researching two Dr.s around here. One named Dr. Chau in North Brunswick and the other Dr. Mehta in Princeton.

ANyone here anything about them?

My surgeon will be Dr Bertha. I want to attend a support group. The last time I had planned to attend, the date had changed and I hadn't noticed it on their website until the new date had passed.

Anyway, I notice that according to their site, there is a meeting this Wednesday. Is that accurate? Also, does it start on time? I am coming afterwork from and am likely to arrive a few minutes late.

Hi Wannabe,

Yep, as far as I know that support group meeting is happening, and yes, it does start at 7:00. I plan to be there since I missed the last one. Looking forward to meeting you!

I went to my counselor today and spoke about the band and I think I have made the decision to do it. I just need a really good surgeon I can feel confident in and also someone who will manage my gastritis, GERD, Asthma, chronic fatigue and fibroymalgia issues.

I am now on the hunt for a REALLY GOOD experienced Lap band surgeon in NJ that TAKES MEDICARE. I am having trouble finding that combination it seems.

Dr Borao out of Monmouth Medical center is a very good surgeon but he does not accept insurance! :-(

His office staff have been rude to me over the phone as well.

Let's get this show on the

road! :-)

Did you call Dr. Ballantynes office Eileen? I'm not sure if the website lists the insurances he takes. Good luck !!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
