I had my band put in on July 8, 2008. It worked great and I was 100% free of heartburn until last year. Last year I got a violent stomach flu and threw up for the first time since getting my band in. I went back to my Dr and he did a barium swallow and said that the band had NOT slipped. He took all of the fluid out. Still had heartburn and ended up with an endoscope. Still said band was in place. Well this week I went in to have my hiatel hernia repaired and the band replaced. There was so much scar tissue that he could not replace the band and YES, it had slipped. I am not getting ready to start the journey on gastric bypass.
