Hair Loss

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else having a problem with losing their hair? My hair has always been pretty thick so it is not noticable to others right now but it is to me. If it keeps coming out the way it has for the last couple of months I am going to be in trouble.

Do you know of anything that would help with this problem??? HELP!!! :(

I have noticed in the last couple of weeks that my hair is coming out alot more than it used to. I had not been taking my Vitamins like I should, I just always forgot. So now I am trying to be more consciencious about it. I think I will get some Biotin too, though. Whatever works!

I haven’t been banded yet but the nutritionist says that lack of Protein will cause Hair loss. Atkins makes some great Protein Drinks she says I should be drinking one daily once banded. 15grams or more protein and 5 grams or less of carbohydrates (it also has 20% biotin) Got it at Wal-Mart for $6.97. Hope this helps.

I havent had the Hair loss issue which the Dr , dietician and my hairdresser say is due to a lack of protein.... but I have a question about Biotin... is it a gel cap? And if so how does one swallow it?

The Biotin I have is dissolveable. You put it under your tongue and it dissolves. So it is easy to take. My bottle says it is 5,000 mg.

I was losing a ton of hair up to about a week ago. 3 weeks ago I started taking Biotin and silica. Last week I had a Nioxin treatment at the hair salon and bought the Shampoo, conditioner, and treatment. Now I am hardly losing anything.

I think my Hair loss was due to a really really poor diet over the summer and in the fall I fasted for 2 weeks -- twice.

The supplements seem to be working for me, but I can swallow anything right now, so size is not an issue.

Good luck.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
