Banded Bikers?

Recommended Posts

Eileen, you don't have to get a bike to learn how to ride. Here in Texas they offer a Motorcycle Riders Safety Course. Two whole days, 7 hours in a class room and a whole day of learning the bike and riding. I think the cost runs about $150 and THEY supply the bikes.

Heck yeah, Betty. The matching bikes look good! And ditto on the big, comfy seat. I put a new Sundowner seat on the RoadKing right before the DC trip. Worlds of difference. And the back seat is a little wider for the DW.

Betty, the only thing that has saved me from bugs and other UFOs is a full-face helmet w/visor. I've been fortunate enough to not have anything bigger than a praying mantis hit while riding the interstate.

Eileen, I ditto Randy. I took the class five years ago, and didn't ride a lick before.

DeLarla (I'm sorry I can't remember your given name), what model Harleys do you ride?

Here's my current bike - 2003 Road King but I've got it up for sale and its time for a new one. I've been riding and trading hd's since 1981. My last four have been Road Kings. My dealership loves me. Celeste

Celeste, what salesman wouldn't love to see you coming in his door. And he could sell you a motorcycle, too :) Right now mine only has about 29K miles on it, lots of riding yet to do.

My DH and I both ride. He has a Yamaha V-Star Classic 650 and I ride a Yamaha Virago (250).

My present to myself once I reach goal weight is a Harley.

as a gift to my DH for getting banded, I surprised him with a Motorcycle saftey course, and he bought himself a Kowasaki 750. Last spring he bought me a Kowasaki 550, which I've never ridden. (he bought me a broken bike.)

I'm okay with him buying me a broken bike because I had a really bad motorcycle accident about 18 years ago, ended up on crutches for a year, and two different skin graphs because of the burns. (people are white meat. I know for sure.)

Indy, nice present. But the Virago ain't bad either. So what about it, you and the DH going to Sturgis this year?

Vinesqueen, ouch! And then people wonder why bikers wear leather. It's to keep our skin from contacting the pavement.

Randy that sounds cool !!! I'm sure they have something like that here. I just might look into that as a gift to myself when I hit goal.... hmmmm.

Would be a tease though lol !!!

Kim, I never planned on learning how to ride. My DH's last bike had passenger pegs that where so high it was uncomfortable to ride on the back. That's when I decided to learn how to ride, took the class, and got my own. My first was a 250 cc Suzuki; my second a Kawasaki ZR-7; and now I have the Sabre. Even though I love to drive, I still enjoy hopping on the back from time to time, leaving the driving to John, and relaxing

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
