In and Out of Bed

Anyone have any tips for getting in and out of bed? I've set up a bunch of pillows to mimic a hospital bed for back support, but when I try to get back up out of bed, I strain my abs and it friggin hurts ! My incisions are still pretty fresh, only been banded about 24 hours. I'm assuming it gets better ?

Heather,

I have the same. When I went to my surgeon today, they took the big bandage off and there was a horizontal incision there.

Are you in California or Canada?

One thing that helps greatly is to use a small pillow and hold it to your stomach. This helps with getting out of bed and when you sneeze or cough. They taught me that one when I had my gallbladder out 10 years ago.
