Confused..what do you do when you are not hungry?

I am a little confused..

The band makes you eat less (i am not hungry at all,i force myself to eat) but you need more calories so you can be able to lose.

I stay in 800-1000 calories ,70-100 gram proteins, 30-50 grams carbs and 20-30 fat, eating at least 4 times a day to keep my metabolism high.I lose weight right after a fill (when i dont eat and i am on liquids and mushies for 3-4 days) and when i get to 800-1000 cals i dont lose.I lost almost 30 pounds in 3 months so maybe my body needs a rest for the last 15 days.I increased my carbs,nothing..I increased fat, nothing again..

But it makes me wonder..how do you balance the band's restriction with the need to eat at least 1000 calories?:smile2:

I try to keep my calories at least around 1200 and if I'm having a day where my choices drop me below that (e.g. fish is a lot lower calories than red meat), I'll drink a low carb/low cal Protein shake or two. I use EAS chocolate powder mixed with almond milk so it's around 5 carbs and 160 calories.

.

Calorie needs vary so widely; I lose in the 800-900 range.

I really don't like to drop below 800, because there's just no way to even approach meeting my nutritional needs if I do. That's where Protein shakes come in handy.

Elfie and Betsy,

I've seen both of you post that you drink "almond milk". What is this and where do I get it? How is this any different from milk?

From what I understand, you both use it to make Protein drinks.....mixed with the powders, right?

Betsy, I know you use the ones from bariatriceating.com. What flavors are the best. I was hoping to find a vanilla but didnt see one. Have you tried the ice-cream sandwich one? I get sooooo tired of chocolate...really have never found one I like and I LOVE chocolate! (Hersheys)

Hmm healthy sliders, like shakes seems a very good idea - although it doesn't sound like something healthy to do for a long period of time.

I will try to add a second protein shake, probably before bed time.I'll see how it goes coz it's difficult to know when you eat "enough"

I am glad you two posted, i follow you and i know you have band experience

Almond milk is made out of pressed almonds...I was just at costco today and "Silk Milk" now makes almond milk..it is lactose free as well...

I get my (vanilla flavored) almond milk from walmart. It's really yummy in my vanilla shakes. I generally Bariatric Advantage Vanilla flavored powder for my shakes.

I wasn't hungry tonight and then when I got hungry (finally), it was too late to eat anything before bed. So, I just had a slimfast type drink. Still a tiny bit hungry, but feel pretty good.
