December Bandsters (Early Xmas present)

I Dr. said, that I am likely to have my band completed in December. I really hope everything else goes great, as I am ready to bring in the new year with a NEW ME. I am still not quite open about the surgery, in fact no one knows but me. I may tell my husband, as the timeline approaches, but the closer I get the more excited I feel.

APPROVED FOR SURGERY! Date is set for Dec 17th... definitely an early Christmas present. However, I am so SO soooo nervous! I probably would have had this surgery 2 years ago had it not been for my nerves. My advise to others: I was annoyed when I found out I had to do a 6 month 'supervised diet' once I decided I was ready to get the band, but it REALLY DOES go by so fast. Take the time to learn as MUCH as you can before surgery.

Good luck to all of the December bandsters!

Hi all,

I am chugging along through my preop diet, hungry but OK except this AM, I was really tired and headachy. I had one piece of WW toast and felt better right away.

I agree with those who are nervous about the upcoming surgery.

Nice to see more December bandsters!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

I am scheduled to have the Lap-Band on Dec. 15th. Im a little nervous about it but reading the post on this website has helped alot!..

I have one question though.. can someone explain to me how to add the ticker to my profile please? :smile2:

I finally have my surgery date! December 15th. It took almost 3 weeks to get the insurance approval. (felt like 3 months!) I am obsessed with reading as many of these posts that I can between now and surgery day... and of course afterward too! Great information on these forums.

cool.gif So excited to find this forum, my date is set for Dec. 6th, and I have been on pre op diet for 2 days. SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!! Ready for my new banded life. Is any one else in the south Louisiana area?

I am in New Orleans and will be banded on Dec 2nd...where are you located?

I gave up my soda like a month ago, so on thanksgiving I decided to bend one last time before I have surgery and drink some soda and a surprise to me it did not taste that good. Now if it was a fountain soda it may have been better, but I am happy that after a month without it I seem to have lost my taste for it.

I am so anxious, my surgery day is Dec.3. I wish the best of luck to all of you going before me and after me. I feel lucky because my insurance or my Dr. did not put me on any diet just practice on my new eating habits. The only thing that is making me soooooo nervous is being able to wake up after surgery. Oh and it is so cold in Northern California I'm afraid to come down with a cold, so I have stocked up on vitamin C.

Hello,

Jess~ I was a diet soda addict! I haven't had any in 8 days and I don't miss it. I have really enjoyed iced tea with lemon or a little Crystal Light. I am glad to hear you had a bit and had lost your taste for it. :D

Vicky~ My date is the second also. I am in Albuquerque.

I have lost 6# on the preop diet. I ate a Thanksgiving dinner but jumped right back to the preop diet yesterday.

I am working on getting my house and Christmas shopping/decorating in order before my surgery date.

Have a great day, Joan
