  1. So I go to weigh myself today even though my Dr. told me not to. I weigh-in at 331. I do a double take get off the scale change the batteries re-calibrate it and get back on. 331. You don't understand I weighed-in at 350 at the hospital right before the surgery 5 days ago!!!!! That means I have lost 19 lbs. in 5 days! I can't believe it. I know I feel well and I am very hydrated as I drink lots of liquids. I don't exercise not yet anyways all the exercise I do is walk around the house. I am shocked. Is this normal? Has anybody else gotten these kind of results? I go in to see my Dr. tomorrow and I hope to weigh 330. I take multi-vitamins and have kept up with my post-op diet. I am so shocked right now. My wife even mentioned that my stomach has gone down as I carry all my excess weight around that region. Should I be concerned???? Or just reap in the benefits of the Lap-Band?
  2. I was banded on 12/03/2010 (5 days ago) since then I have lost 19 pounds!!!!

  4. Thank you for all the support!!! Being getting up and walking, still a little bit sore. Now the attention turns to my wife who is going to be banded this Friday the 10th! It was the easiest thing I could do for myself. Nerves were for nothing, they really took good care of me at the hospital. I'm on the other "side" now and am very happy. Good luck and don't worry to all who are still yet waiting for the band. Everything has been very manageable. Any questions feel free to ask.
  5. Just got back from Hospital. Very sore, everything went well. I am officially Banded!!! Will report more when feeling better.
  6. Pray for me, please!!!!!! I go in tomorrow at 11:15am and I am so nervous and anxious. Will post the results as soon as I can. Take care you all.
  7. Good luck I'll be thinking and praying for you tomorrow!!!
  8. Thanks Chocolatecity!!!!
  9. I use the Atkins Dark Chocolate Royale Shakes for protein in the mornings. The have 15g protein, 1g sugar, 160 Calories, and 2g net carbs. Hope that helps!
  10. I had my appt. with the pre-op nurse yesterday. We went over all the details of my surgery. It's gonna be an outpatient surgery and I'm scheduled for this Friday the 3rd at 11:15am. Please pray for me and my family. I am so far away from my family and they are so worried. I'm getting more and more nervous and anxious as the day nears. Dr. refused to give me some Valiums but that's ok. 3 days to go and I'll be posting in the post-op section. Thanks to all the people who have showed support. I'm just going to enjoy these days and eat all my favorite meals, since I am not on a pre-op diet. Good luck to all of you guys who are going before me and after me. I'll keep you in my prayers.
  11. 4 days to go!!!!!! I'm so nervous and anxious just want this to be over.
  12. Don't be everything will be fine. I'm worried too and a bit stressed, but everything will be fine. It's just NERVES.
  13. I'm also scheduled for December 3!!! I think we are Lap-Band buddies. Good luck to you!!! I'll be thinking of all of you while I'm prepping for my surgery.
  14. That's great. Thank you for your kind comment. When you get your surgery please let me know, so that we may exchange stories. You know where to reach me.

  15. I love your name chocolatecity. I'm a chocolateholic myself. Keep up the good work
  16. I on the other hand LOVE water. I guess I drink about two liters a day on a normal day. I would ideally like to lose at least 150lbs, so we are in the same boat. So, we got quite a way to go. I have told everybody I'm getting the surgery. I'm not very secretive when it comes to these matters. Everybody has been very supportive of my desicion, including my father who was worried at first. My wife who is getting the surgery done pretty soon too, decided to tell her sister only. Not doing the pre-op diet or anything I have managed to lose 10lbs. Pretty good for someone who is not dieting, huh????
  17. I know he did tell me in the initial consult that I had to lose 20lbs., but in the same breath he told me that he is known for preforming the surgery without the weight loss. Funny, huh? Anyway I'm approved and if all goes as scheduled I'm set for Dec. 3.

    Yepee!

Congratulations! It was a long road for me too. My surgery is December 3rd. Good luck and hope to see you in the December/January Bandsters!!!!!
  19. I weigh-in at 350lbs and i have extremely bad obstructive sleep apnea. The CPAP was very uncomfortable at first, getting used to have something over your face and all. I must say that three years later that machine has saved my life. I do not snore and I wake up feeling rested and ready to face the day. I think that having obstructive sleep apnea helped me get the surgery which is this coming Friday December 3rd. If your doc recommends it do it. It just might save your life.
  20. I am so anxious, my surgery day is Dec.3. I wish the best of luck to all of you going before me and after me. I feel lucky because my insurance or my Dr. did not put me on any diet just practice on my new eating habits. The only thing that is making me soooooo nervous is being able to wake up after surgery. Oh and it is so cold in Northern California I'm afraid to come down with a cold, so I have stocked up on vitamin C.
  21. December 3 is the big day!!!!! I'm a December Bandster!!!!!!!
  22. I hear today when our surgery (my wife and I) will be. Hoping the surgeon can squeeze is in for December so we can be December Bandsters.
