i was told after surgery i couldn't lift 10 lbs and up for about it think was 6 to 8 weeks

I routinely lift 25# and more in my warehouse and was told no more than 5 lbs for the first two weeks after surgery, then no more than 10# until 8 weeks after surgery.

.

Check with your doctor. I was cleared for exercise without restriction after my 4-week check.
