Sure.. it's very easy.

1 lb grnd turkey (try to use 90/10 or better. not all ground turkey is lean.. read the labels!)

1 bag Kroger frozen onions & peppers (or use fresh onions & bell peppers..The bag is 10oz, so I would guess 1/2 cup each of fresh)

2 cans Pinto Beans, drained & rinsed (approx 15 oz)

1 can black Beans, drained & rinsed (approx 15 oz)

2 cans rotel tomatoes (approx 10 oz) (aka tomatoes with green chilies)

1 cup frozen cut corn (OPTIONAL)

1 pkg taco seasoning

1 pkg ranch dressing mix

Water as needed.

Brown turkey and frozen onions/peppers together. Drain. Return to pot. Add remainder of ingredients. Simmer as long as you can stand it. You will need to add a little Water as it is very thick.

Serve as is or with a dollop of sour cream (for those w/o a weight issue) or non fat s. cream or non fat plain greek yogurt for those who are being careful of calories.

The corn does add some high glycemic carbs, but w/o it the Soup looses some color appeal. Original recipe called for a whole can of creamed corn.. I backed it down to healthier frozen corn and only 1 cup.

Very forgiving recipe.. you can make all kinds of adjustments according to your needs and it still seems to work.

When I first started cooking with turkey, I added beef bouillon.. now we don't as we have adjusted to the milder taste.

Enjoy!

Also BariatricEating.com has a recipe for a marvelous White chicken Chili. yum yum

I make this too but instead of adding water I don't drain the beans(except black beans) and I use canned corn and don't drain. I also vary my beans, kidney, pinto, chili whatever. And top with cheese and sour cream. Fat Free as necessary. It's a family favorite.

I eat steak. I was told I may not be able to, but if I can then it's okay! I don't eat it often. Maybe once every couple of weeks. I eat it medium-well, with heinz 57 or a-1 sauce. And I chew, chew, chew the heck out of it and I eat it very slowly.

I drain and rinse Beans to cut back on the sodium. I also use low sodium taco seasoning. Not only is this more healthy (IMO) my husband has issues with hypertension. I've tried buying the no salt versions of beans, I don't like them as well.

My nutritionist wanted me to cut the corn out completely. I'm compromising by cutting back.

It's such a versatile and forgiving recipe.

I take the basic recipe and tweak it a bit and make taco flavored meatloaf. Wonderful too.

I eat steak, but I make sure it's very tender and not overcooked. The little bacon wrapped fillets that you can buy in the grocery store are a BIG plenty.. sometimes I get two meals out of them.

Even though I'm only 6 1/2 weeks out with 1 fill, a chicken leg quarter takes care of me alllllllllllll day!

I'm sure when I get another fill, it will be much less! I mean I hope it will be less! I mean it better be less!

The first time I had it, I felt like I had died and gone to heaven.

I am truley carnivorous:wub:

Please share the chili recipe or give me the link to find it. However, that may make it way too convenient, but I will have to exercise more self-control. Put my skills to good use.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
