Being weak is the worst part about those types of diets! What does the diet consist of? If it gets too much you should ask your doc if you can have something else. =( I hope it gets better for you soon! Congrats on the 6lbs though that is wicked amazing!!!

I find stock to be a lot more interesting than broth. Also have you tried Greek Yogurt? I like Chobani brand. In general Greek yogurt has twice the Protein than the regular kind. That might help you to feel full longer. Be glad you like Jello. I had one serving post op and gave up. I went on line and saw that jello had no nutritional value and that was that for me. I gave them to my mother to take home.

Hi lovemysgt. Today was Day 5 for me also. My diet is 5 14oz servings of Protein shake (I use Muscle milk light) and 2 cups of veggies a day. I can have broth and 30 calories worth of Jello also.

I too am really hungry, but I have lost 8.6 lbs and that feels amazing.

Every time I feel like giving in, I think about my big sloppy liver getting bruised during surgery and imagine waking up not banded. We can do this.

When is your surgery date?

make sure you are getting enough protein!! Before my surgery they had me on full fluids with Protein Shakes being my main meals. I typically got at least 70 grams of Protein for the day and usually over 90 grams and felt fine...good luck:redface:

Try adding Benefiber to everything... Jello, yogurt, milk, Water, OJ, Protein shakes, broth etc... you honestly can't taste it at all, and it doesn't become thick if you leave it standing for a while.

Fiber helps you feel fuller, and will help you in other ways too...

otherwise, I'd just drink a lot of Water and fill up on that between meals.

Best in luck!

Hi lovemysgt,

It is H A R D, isn't it? I'm finishing Day 4 of an 800 cal a day Protein shake diet and haven't really had fun yet. :-) I don't have a scale at home that I can weigh on so I don't even know if I've lost any weight. If I knew that, I know it would help me with motivation.

Anyway, the NP at my surgeon's office told me that if you cut out all sugar for 4-5 days, your body will begin to understand that it is not going to get any more and stop "calling" for it by making your tummy rumble and giving you that "heady, icky" feeling. The dietician I met with a few days after that told me the same thing -- that after 4-5 days there is a physiological changes that will make it easier to endure. I'm banking on that and should find out soon if it's true or not!

Let me know if you experience that or have ever heard of it, but just keep at it. Every pound that comes off now makes you that much healthier before your surgery and will speed you to your goal and your new life.

HANG IN THERE!!

For the love of cheese, lady, CHILL OUT! That person was simply pointing out to you that you are NOT starving in the literal sense. Jesus. If you are considering getting banded, my guess is that you are FAT like the rest of us and your body could survive weeks without food.

Get over yourself.

This is my last post/visit here because I think that - in general - the level of intelligence on these boards is simply lacking. Your option to the other poster is to be supportive or leave? I am so out of here. Buh-bye.

And, dammit, people, you LOSE weight, but your clothing might become LOOSE if you do. Sheesh. "Lose" versus "loose" is NOT a difficult concept.

Hard not to be irritable when we're hungry. Cognitive functioning goes too. My family has been running for cover; even my dog doesn't want to be around me now. I am in the liquid only phase--surgery in 2 days. I am trying to be mindful that my emotions are all over the place. God help us all--I'm staying out of public places till this is over. I might assault someone eating an ice cream cone.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
