For me it was 9 days exactly :cursing:

5 days where I just ate/drank what I had to... a couple of days feeling happy to have shakes and then hunger set in. But it has been manageable and I have stayed in control. My first fill is this week and I am happy about that. I liked the promise of not being hungry and I am ready to feel that!

I was hungry pretty quickly- I'd say about 4 or 5 days after surgery.

My stomach was growling a few days after surgery but I really started getting hungry about 9-10 days out...but I really only had about 4-5 days of fighting hunger than I could start mushies and that helps alot..not near as hungry now that I can eat some stuff...but now Im hungry all the time and feel like I can eat anything..and it sucks!

Seriously Honestly it was the day OF surgery that I was hungry! I was shocked and a little mad lol. Bandster hell started for me probably about 5 hours after surgery.

About 5 days, which makes it a long time until you can get a fill. However, have been through this before (my band slipped and I had to have it reset), and look on the bright side. Once you can start getting fills, you will never be starving again. You'll get hungry, you'll eat a little, and you'll feel full! I can honestly say this is the first time I've really been starving since I had my first surgery 2 1/2 years ago! This is how the rest of the world lives!!!

OMGEEEE! :) I thought I was the only one that began to feel hungry the day of my surgery! It has been hell every since trying to eat healthily and not be hungry. I went for my first fill and I am still too loose and still hungry. My weight lose is at a stand still and I work out an hour everyday. I am not discouraged yet. I go for another fill on the 31st and this time I am full of questions about why I am going through so much hunger.:smile2:

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
