Started 14 day fast yesterday. This is the second day. Not really to bad yet. 5 protien shakes a day, cup of broth, cup of sugarfree Jello and a sugarfree popcicle.

ALL the Water, crystal lite, Decaf tea and decaf coffee I want. Was tired early yesterday and dizzy this morning but I can't imagine this for 14 days. I have cooked twice a day as usual for hubby but I'm sure that will get harder.

Good to hear I'm not the only Grandma. I turn 63 3 days after my surgery, an early birthday present to myself. I'm on day 8 pre-op diet and can't wait to get started. All the best to you too. We can do it!

Best of luck to all of you who are getting real close and for those who are the pre op..

Ten days fasting. Four more days left. Surgury Friday. I have cooked for hubby cause I have created a helpless ol man. Only bothered me once. I have broke down twice. Once my family was over and they tried a new pizza place and I had three bites. Also on the day of my col/end tests after no protien drink for two days I had a cup of oatmeal.< /p>

Knowing me I figured I gained 10lbs for that screw up.

I have a few licks and larps myself. Really need to stop because I am so afraid it is going to mess me up. But it is really hard to break a habit that I have had forever..You know taste testing everything I cook. What did you mean no Protein shake for two days??? I am finding out that every dr has a different pre op diet to follow.. Hope things are going well for you.

I'm 27 and due to be banded on Oct. 15th. Starting my pre-op diet & nervous as ever about this procedure!

We are getting banded on the same day. Do you have a time yet for your procedure?? I do not. I wont actually find out until the day before. How are things coming on the pre op diet. I am a little nervous myself but at the same time know without a doubt I am ready to start this journey of my life. Let me know how your doing on the pre op.

Hey everyone

I was banded October 7th, so I'm only two days out. My pre-op diet was easy compared to yours. Starting a week before I was to have two meals a day which ended up being some lean cuisine meals. Then the two days before just liquids....And I still hated it. I don't know how you guys do the week on liquids alone, I would go insane.

Ive got 6 more days of this pre op. Then its not like I come home eating steak.. Mmm steak.... ONLY kidding!! I just keep telling myself it is a part of it and I am willing to do it. Besides Ive lost 12 pounds in a week. That makes it a little more tolerable. LOL "Sandworm" how did your surgery go? I would love to hear about it.

Hi Gran, I am 67 and getting the band next week. I feel like I am the oldest person on this board. I don't feel my age at all, and I am looking foward to my new life. I have made up my mind I will do everything I am told and not do it my way any more. I have already lost 25 pounds because my doctor has a dietitian who is trained in bariatrics. I feel so much better. I like the doctor and the whole staff is so helpful. Is there anyone close to my age who has had lap band and been sucessful?

My surgery went great. I lost about 17lbs on the pre-op diet so at least there's that. I've spent the last 3 days at my parents house recovering. I'm going to try and go back to work on Monday, but I'm not sure how a tucked in shirt is going to feel on my belly button stitches.

Well I have transitioned to the other side!!! I am now a Bandster!!! My day at the hospital yesterday was uneventful. I arrived at 7 as instructed, but never went to surgery until about 12. Waiting is not one of my favorite things LOL! So it was making me more nervous than anything. I came home about 4.

Today I am just very sore around my belly button area and hurts just a bit to take deep breaths, but all in all, not too bad. I am so ready for a shower LOL! I will be a good girl and wait until tomorrow as instructed, but boy could I use one right now.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me up to this point and I will certainly be calling on you more, now that I will have bandster questions!

Hugs,

Jane

Hey kids, I'm back. Wasen't bad at all. I would say the hardest thing was all the prep for the surgury. Had it Friday and this is tuesday. I walk often but don't lift, push or pull. Little heavyness where they fixed the hernia but all and all doing great. I hope all my kids are doing as good as me.

Glad to hear all is well! I too was a Friday bander and except for some soreness in my belly button area, I am doing good. I am planning to return to work tomorrow, we will see how that goes.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
