Hello all! I will be banded the 24th and so counting down the days! I have to be at the surgery center at 10:30 a.m. for a 1:30 pm surgery! I may not get home until later in the evening. I'm on a two-week high Protein diet with two shakes during the day and a light meal for dinner. I'm down a few pounds but cheated miserably over the weekend. I'm sticking to it this week and not cheating.

Two years ago I had the Realize Band for 48 hours and then had some complications from a lacerated small intestine from the surgery. Subsequently, I had the band removed and had to have extensive small bowel resection and spent a week in the hospital. Here I am now, healed up from that and will be Lap-Banded the 24th of this month. I am having some deep anxiety about it, but I have a great surgeon and will place all of my trust in him.

You are a very brave lady!!! wow! Not sure I would go for it a second time. Let us know how you are doing.

Hi everyone, I did it! I am banded and it went fine. A little uncomfortable and gas pain not too bad. Nothing pain meds won't help lol.So glad to be home and in my own bed lastnight. Thanks so much for all the support and good wishes. I am so glad everyone had a good surgery on 8/16 our lucky day! Good luck to all of the other's waiting you can do it. Talk more later.

Congratulations!!!!

Good Morning! I'm Banded!!!! :) Went in for a 7:00 surgery and was back to the hotel by 5:00. So far no gas pain ( wow I'm lucky ) but my poor belly sure does hurt. I find it is very hard to get up and down, I've been trying to walk, walk, walk and I even snuck in the shower this morning and just let the hot Water run on my back. DH has been so sweet and got up with me several times last night to walk with me ( in case I got dizzy ) Going to try to head home in a little bit. Congats to all my 18th brothers and sisters and to all the AUGUST RUSH!!!

I can't wait to become a big loser!!!!

It's soooo reassuring to hear all the positive things so far. Maybe August is our lucky month! I barely got in... my surgery is the 31st. And then the next day (Sept 1st) is my 5 year anniversary to stop smoking!!!! Yeah Me!!!

Well good luck to EVERYONE here! Keep us posted how things are going.

Hey, Diane. Congrats on the quit smoking anniversary. I hit 8 years on the 8th of this month. It's so great to be a non-smoker now. It was such a hard thing to quit. Next year I am going to be saying the same thing about losing weight. What a lifelong struggle to have finally overcome! I can't wait!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
